“Lucky find”
Reviewed 20 October 2012

We tried to make arrangements to do a boat trip of Cinque Terre without success. We decided to take the ferry from town to town and explore on our own. On the way to the ferry, we saw a man reading in his boat. With nothing to lose, I asked him if he gave boat tours and he said his tour boat was in dock because the sea was a little too rough but if we would like, he would take us in his outboard boat. We settled on the price, got in the boat and had the pleasure of meeting Stefano of Matilde Navigation. We had a wonderful ride and informative trip of CT. We asked Stefano if he would drop us in Verazza for lunch and pick us up in about an hour to go back to Monterosso. Not a problem. He had no idea of who we were, no money had changed hands and we had our lunch and retuned to find him at the dock an hour later. What a terrific trusting happy person. The trip was perfect, the price was right and we made a friend. Great day in Italia.

“Awesome tour”
Reviewed 23 August 2012

We only had two hours... but the tour can be customized to the length desired. Stephano's love for the Cinque Terra is obvious. His knowledge of its history is evident and interesting to learn from. Stephano shared some wine and foccacia bread on board and brought us to a calm cave to swim in. If we had more time he would have brought us to additional diving spots. We stayed in Manarola and he was willing to pick us up and drop us off at this location for our convenience. Viewing the Cinque Terra and it's villages from the sea is a definite must! Thanks Stephano for a GREAT day!

“Matilda Navigation(Stefano) boat tour was highlight of our Italy trip!”
Reviewed 13 August 2012 via mobile

My family had a wonderful time learning about the 5 villages from Stefano and seeing them from the water. He provided us with wine and delicious focaccia and soft drinks for kids. He anchored a few times to let us swim in the beautiful Mediterranean. We were enjoying ourselves so much we extended an hour! For 80 euros(max 6 people) it was a bargain, and money well spent. He is a Cinque Terre treasure! Grazie Mille!

“Highlight of our trip!”
Reviewed 31 July 2012

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Stefano.....he is very proud of his culture and knowledgeable about the history of cinque terre. We approached Stefano last minute, late in the day, and he was more than happy to take us on a sunset tour. This was truly one of the highlights of our trip and would highly recommend his tour.

“Highlight of our trip!”
Reviewed 25 July 2012

As Stefano will tell you, he is a simple man, living a simple life - but what he has to share with his guests is so much more than that! Stefano's knowledge of and passion for the Cinque Terre is infectious. He is a great person and a very gracious host. The views of Cinque Terre from the water are absolutely beautiful and you see and learn so much more with Stefano. Our family of four truly enjoyed the history, the personality, the cove swimming, the foccaccia and the wine!
Thank you, Stefano, for the highlight of our trip!
