I stayed in hotel baia and the location was ok... It's across from the beach and a minute walk to the train... But I over heard several times of the owners yelling in Italian constantly.... Especially the female owner... We were in the lobby and she walked in and started yelling at the girl behind the desk and throwing her arms everywhere... Not sure what she was saying but it was very rude and we felt very uncomfortable... The second run in was a false alarm when a fire alarm went off in the building and we all evacuated... It took the owners an hour to get to the hotel and they were angry that the alarm went off and the female was yelling really loud in an angry tone.... Instead of thanking there was no fire she was angry about the false alarm.... Not a nice lady at all and to me it made my stay uncomfortable as she was always yelling at someone about something.... Glad to have left. Plenty more hotels near by which is just as nice...

The cranky owner made our stay unpleasant and uncomfortable. The miserable mentality is firmly implanted in every aspect of the day to day operations of the hotel. We left early as a result. If you enjoy being treated like an imbecile and accept third rate accomodation in a small and pokey room, then go ahead and treat yourself . The above sentiment was recounted by other guests during our stay. Not worthy of three stars.

Room Tip: Book another hotel.

Great hotel, will definitely be back , excellent location overlooking the beach, the restaurant food and service excellent, we had a side room with big open windows and a view, surprisingly quiet , will book a balcony room next time round, July of course is a extremely busy time of year, however the area copes well with the influx

I have stayed here twice. The hotel is simple but clean. Breakfast plentiful. The location is perfect. One block to train and right on a beautiful beach. The views are stunning. The staff is friendly.
This time we had a medical emergency and the staff was outstanding, compassionate, and kind.

Room Tip: Rooms in front have great views and sound of the ocean can lull you to sleep Can be a little noisy however if you are early to bed as the narrow street is right outside, but you can close the window

We spent three nights at this little piece of paradise in Monterossa and loved every second. What the Baia lacks in luxury, it makes up for in location. The rooms are small, but very clean and air-conditioned. The magnificent view from our balcony and the hospitality of this family owned hotel more than compensate for any luxury that is sacrificed. The train station, private beach, parking, and endless spread of café’s and restaurants provide the perfect setting for any traveller from listless wanderers to family affairs. The staff were incredibly helpful with recommendations for local attractions and hidden gems.
