Stayed for three nights in late May in a charming room with balcony. The breakfast was fabulous, fully stocked with everything you could wish for including homemade cakes and pastries by the breakfast staff.
The hotel is located just off the main square but is very quiet.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

This was our first hotel in Italy on this trip and we wished our subsequent hotels could have measured up--the rooms were spacious and not only did we have our own balcony, but there was a public terrace across the hall and a roof top terrace that overlooked the town that we utilized for cocktails and relaxing. The staff was friendly and helpful with train times, restaurants, etc. Selene (evening reception) was really sweet and knowledgeable. Off the main square in the old town, steps from restaurants but still in a quiet area. Breakfast was also outstanding and offered freshly home baked items every morning, along with the usual offerings of a European and English breakfast. They also highlight a table full of food that is organic and locally sourced. This place is a real gem.

The location of the hotel is perfect— a bit away from the crowds, but still in the center of town. The staff is charming, welcoming and professional. The hotel itself has a rooftop area as well as a shaded garden downstairs, and everything is spotless. Breakfast was amazing...we met Lucia the extraordinary baker of cakes and pastries.

La Colonninia was a great resort hotel. Well ran , friendly staff . I was impressed with the location in relation to hiking trails train station and the beach. Their buffet breakfast was as good as we found in any of 5 hotels we stayed in during this trip. My wife and daughter have been here twice and now I see why this was the place they wanted to stay at in Monterossa .

Straightforward and welcoming, a very good base for the area set back - but not too far - from the busy main restaurant parts of the village and no distance at all to the beach, coast path etc; ten minutes to the railway station. Very friendly, very clean and an excellent choice at breakfast.
