We stayed at Manuel's and it was great. The view is unbelievable, though if you have an issue with climbing up a lot of stairs this place is not for you. The balcony was ineradicable and Manuel and his Nephew where excellent hosts (along with Manuel's two dogs who were great). My wife and I loved staying here and the smell of the sea baked into the room was so relaxing.

Monterosso is beautiful and we were there during the Lemon festival/world cup and that was very cool. My wife did get an ear infection and we called the local physician who does house calls for help.... save you money this hack gave my wife some stuff that didn't help at all and when we got back our doctor was bewildered by what he gave her. Anyways, the hotel is great and Monterosso is great, just don't get sick ;)

There's a reason Manuel's has a five star rating and that's because of how warm and wonderful they are at making you feel like such a welcome guest. We arrived after a long day of travel and initially I found the ascent up the many many stairs to the guest house annoying. But upon our arrival Lorenzo greeted us happily, took us to our immaculate room with private patio that overlooked the whole town
of Monterosso and got us water. Once settled we asked about where we could do a small bit of laundry and he offered to wash it for us the next day. This was just the beginning of the fantastic service they offered. We enjoyed drinking reasonably priced wine every afternoon at the bar and chatting with Giovanni whose English wasn't great but had a contagious smile, happily taught us Italian and showed us the best service we experienced in all of Italy! He also served breakfast and made us feel spoiled offering endless fruits, pastries and coffees. The stairs that initially annoyed me I grew to love, seeing that they gave us the best view in town and separated us from the tourist crowds. I also loved the herb gardens and grapes growing all around and the sweet stray kitties that sunbathed on the patio. Besides all that our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Can't recommend Manuel's enough!

This was our first visit to Cinque Terre in May.
We stayed at Manuels and highly recommend this guest house.
Stayed upstairs with fantastic verandah views.
We took up Lorenzo's suggested local restaurants and also his suggested hike via a path high above the mountain of Monterosso and then across to Vernazza. This was one of the best walks we have experienced thanks to Lorenzo's suggestion.
Thank you Lorenzo and Giovanni for your wonderful hospitality, great advice on local walks where we had a lovely experience and what great views!!!
Will definitely stay at Manuels again.

Stayed here for 3 nights in May with my husband and we loved every second. Lorenzo and Giovanni are such great hosts. Our room had a side view of the ocean, and was super clean and comfortable. We got a little lost trying to find the place, but we called them and they came out and found us. They serve a great breakfast on an amazing terrace overlooking Monterosso and the ocean, and in the afternoon they serve beer and wine with appetizers. We will definitely stay here again when we return to the Cinque Terre!

My family of four stayed in July for 3 nights. From the moment of inquiry, to reservation, to arrival, Lorenzo has always been helpful. He sent us a detailed direction to the hotel from the train station. After climbing up some stairs, we arrived at the hotel. What a beautiful view! The next morning, Giovanni served us great breakfast. We are still talking about his capuccino. They also provided us towel when we wanted to go to beach. We have a great experience at Manuel's house!
