“Enchanting indeed”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 October 2013

There really is an enchanted garden, and it is an immaculately beautiful private garden across the street from the inn where breakfast is served and where you can relax after a tiring day. The room was spacious with beautiful antiques. They fill up the fridge in your room with complimentary drinks and snacks, and also provide complimentary fruit. They replenish the supply when you use it. In addition there is complimentary home made limoncello. The breakfasts are excellent. Fausto and MariaPia are lovely people and you are treated like their personal guests. Fausto noticed from my passport that we were staying during my birthday, and that morning the breakfast waiter came to the table with a cake and a candle as a birthday surprise. Two quibbles - unreliable wi-fi, we could only connect early in the morning before other guests were up; breakfast does not begin until 8:30, less than ideal if you want to get an early start. Nevertheless, it was a wonderful stay.

I don't know where to begin....this B&B was perfect ! Everything thought of to the smallest detail. The Inn was immaculate....comfortable and elegant. Lovely breakfast in the garden.....fresh fruit in the room....homemade Limoncello in the evening. Our hosts and their staff were so friendly and helpful, They went beyond our expectations. We stayed at another B&B the first night in Cinque Terre ( Il Giardino was fully booked) I forgot my coat there. When I tried to call....things got confused, because of the language barrier. Fausto stepped in....called the other inn....and then sent one of his staff across town to retrieve the coat. I can't say enough about Il Giardino...we have traveled a lot and I can be a bit fussy....but Il Giardino Incantato was without a doubt the best !!!!

This is a B&B that has everything, lovely room, perfect garden, lovely breakfast and perfect hosts. The garden is a real bonus, a really nice place to have breakfast or have a pre dinner drink. A perfect base for exploring cinque terra.

This small B&B is close to perfect, down to the smallest detail. Other reviewers have described the immaculate, comfortable, up-to-date accommodations in the ancient building, the snacks in the room, the homemade limoncello sipped in the garden, the delicious made-to-order breakfast. So I will focus on the hosts and the staff. Fausto and Maria Pia made us feel so welcome that we were tempted to move in indefinitely. Be sure to ask to see the photos of the 2011 flood to really appreciate what the town and the house went through, and how both have been restored. When we were leaving, there were no taxis available to take us to the train station (it is about a 15-minute walk), so Elijah, the friendly young man who had served us breakfast, walked with us all the way, carrying some of our bags -- then graciously refused a tip, saying that it was his pleasure. Although we would pick a different month to travel to the Cinque Terre (too many tour groups crowd the narrow streets in October), we would definitely choose Il Giardino again should we return.

Room Tip: There are only four or five rooms, so book early!

I have to say DITTO to all the fabulous reviews of Il Giardino Incantato. We were warmly greeted by Fausto and Maria Pia. Our room was beautiful, well appointed and stuffed with fresh fruit, a full fridge of beverages and snacks. The private garden is so amazing and a welcome oasis after a day of crowds. After dinner my husband and I went to the garden. What a wonderful surprise to find candles lit EVERYWHERE! It was beautiful during the day but at night was so romantic, quiet, lush and felt like 'our secret garden'. We could have slept out there! Then we remembered the fabulous room waiting for us and after finishing our bottle of wine went back into 'our' 16th century house.(a girl can dream) Our host had their very own homemade lemonccelo nightcap set out. The next morning our romantic garden was transformed into an enchanted breakfast garden. The breakfast was served by professional servers dressed in white. The tables all set with our room name displayed on it and it was so delicious. We were highly recommend Il Giardino Incantato!

Book your stay here! Fausto and Mariapia and staff are very gracious, friendly, and helpful. Our room was spacious, elegant, and quiet. We had an abundant supply of fresh fruits, cold drinks, snacks, and tea. The garden is a charming oasis. We enjoyed starting our day with the delicious breakfast in the garden. It was also a nice respite in the middle of the day to sit there and read. Beautiful!

The Il giardino was in a word 'amazing'. I travelled with a friend and 3 other groups (who stayed in other accommodation) and everything Il Giiardino Incantato offers surpassed them all. The breakfast and breakfast service each morning was the best I have experienced in the world and there is nothing too much of a bother for Fausto and Mariapa and their team. Our friends were welcomed by them and the secret garden was a much loved destination each night for pre-dinner drinks and lemoncino as a night cap. I truly cannot rave enough about this accommodation - which in essence is way more than simply a place to stay

Room Tip: Book early to get dates as it can be booked in advance
