This family is incredible. They are helpful, warm, and kind. They even made us a coffee one night. Our room in particular was very, very high up- 114 stairs to be exact- so it is not for the short-winded. But the view was worth every step. We stayed for 6 nights and had a fridge to keep our groceries in. There is not any ac but the breeze from the ocean with an open window kept it pretty cool. We also had a private bathroom. All for only €50 a night. The location was perfect, too. It's on the main street and close to the train and the beach. I will definitely be revisiting...or at least sending them a Christmas card. Awesome place!

We stayed in La Dolce Vita for 2 nights as we explored Cinque Terre. We couldn't have been happier with our stay - our room was located right on the main street with a view of downtown Riomaggiore, and was very clean, spacious, quiet, recently renovated, and well decorated. Small fridge in the room to keep a few things cold if you needed to. The rooms at La Dolce Vita are scattered throughout town, and the central office is located on the main street of Riomaggiore, only a short 5-min walk from the train station. WiFi is only available in the area directly around the office, but that didn't bother us at all. Staff is very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again!

Having read reviews that the place offered amazing views and a well equipped kitchenette, my boyfriend and I were disappointed when we were shown to our room.

While large and clean, our room faced the main street and as such there was no seaview to speak of. There was also no kitchenette or utensils - just some glasses to drink from.

The availability of wifi is another area the management can probably look into. Only available at the areas around the main office, it made things pretty inconvenient as it meant that we had to trudge from our room to the office at night just to use the internet.

Overall what the room offered overall did not justify the price we paid. Should I be back in Cinque Terre, I probably would not stay here again.

Usually opting to stay in budget accommodation we were very impressed by what we got at La Dolce Vita. We stayed in apartment (68 or maybe 65?) and it was a fair size with a double bed, fold out sofa bed, dining table, great shower and bathroom and a kitchen equip with oven, fridge, kettle etc. The heating was a bonus feature and very effective in the house. Being a small town, most accommodation is within a good range but this especially was close to the bottom of the hill making it an easy walk from the train station etc. The hosts were very helpful, available when needed and even running up to our place to bring a bottle opener and teach us idiots how to turn on the heater!
Cinque Terre accommodation can be a little different to what one is used to, often the office for the accommodation is in one location on the main street and the available rooms/apartments scattered throughout the town. This was the case with La Dolce Vita meaning that wifi could only be accessed from the office, which was fine as tables are set up for you to sit at and you are more than welcome to use the wifi anytime. This set up also meant you were very independent and the room/apartment is not based around a common hallway in a hostel/guesthouse making it very private and good for noise etc. Clean towels, toilet paper and a mat were dropped off to us after 2 days.
Highly recommend this accommodation.

Room Tip: There are different rooms/apartments so just ask to see photos of the specific one that they are boo...

We were given apartment 71 when we arrived, and this room made our stay. Right above the boat ramp, we could sit on the (small) balcony and watch the waves and enjoy the afternoon sun. We could hear the waves crashing while sleeping which was fabulous. The apartment was HUGE and spacious, with a small kitchen where we could store wine & antipasto goodies. There was crockery & utensils should you wish to cook, but only a microwave (no kettle/jug so unable to make tea & coffee in the room). The bathroom was new and very clean (small issue that the door didn't shut, but didn't bother us too much). It was incredibly clean & fresh towels were left for us after two nights. Very cost effective for Cinque Terre, and extremely close to the train station and main street. We enjoyed the local restaurants, deli's, and gelateria - but nothing could beat sitting on the balcony after a day exploring! Would highly recommend La Dolce Vita Hostel - far more than a hostel, more like a collection of amazing apartments around Riomaggiore.

We stayed in Cinque Terre Holidays which was horrible until we found the lovely lady of La Dolce Vita, shes a really lovely helpful lady. The rooms are cheap, clean and excellent value for money. Even the smallest cheapest room is quite nice, has amazing views and is a short stroll to the sea.

Great location in the Main Street of Riomaggiore, close to the train station. Fantastic host, clean room and an AMAZING view of the cliff sides from our room window. Bit of a hike upstairs to get to our room, but that is expected staying in a cliffside location. Restaurants and food super close. We were on a budget and this was just perfect. Enjoyed our stay here.
