“Highly Recommended and Martha is Wonderful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 June 2013

We spent 4 nights in Riomaggiore and made the mistake of spending the first 3 nights in another location. Our last night was at Vento di Mare and the experience there was infinitely better than at the other location. The room was lovely and the wifi worked! However, the best asset may be Martha. Her skills as a host and her knowledge of the area are unsurpassed. Riomaggiore is a lovely town and I know we'll be going back at some point. And, when we do, we'll be staying at Vento di Mare.

We had a wonderful and pleasant stay at Vento Di Mare. The room was very clean, comfortable and accessible. Martha is an awesome host and she gave us many useful tips and advise about Cinque Terre and the local restaurants. Martha is also very prompt in her reply and even went the extra mile in helping us to find out about train timings to Florence. Our stay in Vento Di Mare @ Riomaggiore was definitely a highlight and would highly recommend it. Same as one of the reviews... our only regret is not being able to stay there a bit longer. We will definitely come back and stay here again. Thanks Martha for your awesome hospitality and your patience in waiting for us at the station when we got 'lost'.

We rented the Scirocco and Maestrale rooms for two nights. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and spacious. The advantages of staying here . . . location and Martha. This is a superb spot if staying in Riomaggiore. The property is located near the base of the hill, which makes it ideal for accessing the train station, marina, beach, ATM, and restaurants. Martha was a joy to deal with from start to finish. She me us at the train, provided us with all kinds of great local advice, and was very accommodating. We ran into her several times while touring the town and she was always irrepressibly cheerful and helpful. My whole family loves her and had a excellent time staying here. The only downside, the wifi on the first floor was a bit sketchy. Our one regret . . . that we couldn't stay longer.

Stayed in Riomaggiore for only one night, which was our biggest mistake. I wish we could have stayed longer! This village is the most Southern of the 5 but travel between the different villages is extremely easy. We only had time to visit 3 (Monterosso, Vernazza, Riomaggiore), however Riomaggiore was our favorite.

We booked room Maestrale, which is the room on the bottom floor. It fit our needs perfectly and the room was actually bigger than many other rooms that we had rented during our travels. Everything was cleaned and ready for us by the time we arrived. Did I mention that it is conveniently placed? It is less than a minute walk to either the train station or the dock.

What really impressed us was the hospitality and welcome from Martha who greeted us at the top of Riomaggiore. She walked us down to the room, which is a 5-10 minute walk. Gave us a tour of the village on our way down. When we arrived at the room, she provided us with hiking maps, train and bus schedules, and gave us insight as to what she recommended for us to do during our short stay. She also has a book with all the restaurants and menus for you to look through. We definitely recommend eating at La Lampara for dinner and Toto Saporo (take away Sicilian Specialties) for lunch for the atmosphere and delicious food! Though we hear that many of the restaurants are fantastic so you can't really go wrong with what you choose.

**note: There is wifi however in this particular room, the signal is close to non-existant. We needed to go up the stairs by the bookcase if we wanted internet. Another option is the cafe nearby that provides wifi.

Will book with Martha again when we are able to return. (:

Thank you Martha!
Happy Travels Everyone!

We really appreciate the time you took to write us a review! Thank you so much!
Because Riomaggiore is such a small village, Internet is never a guarantee. I apologize that WiFi access wasn't so great in room Maestrale - its probably because of its location, but we'll definitely look into it, and change carriers if need be. :)
Thank you again - and yes, the next time we'd love to have you for a longer stay!

The room was very comfortable. It was recently renovated, very clean, and a good size. It has a little fridge, which came in handy. The location was great, very close to the train station. This room had a terrace and it was nice to step outside and sit. But honestly, I can't speak enough about the kindness of Martha. She was so very helpful and always with a smile. Also, we were met at the train station, which was an added bonus. I would recommend this place to anyone and I will at any chance I get. The Cinque Terre is incredible...well worth the trip, Riomaggiore is the perfect home base, and Venito di Mare is cherry on top.

Room Tip: The room with the terrace is at the top, and I was so happy with it. If anyone has trouble with sta...

Vento Di Mare is a perfect place to stay for a few nights. It is very well located- in the heart of the town and close to the water! The owner was amazingly accommodating and helped us out with everything we needed. I can't say a bad thing about the place! I would recommend it to anyone wanting to have an enjoyable holiday in Cinque Terre. We definitely will be back!
