We stayed a few nights at Cinqueterre Residence and we loved it. The room was very nice and very clean. We had a nice view from our balcony. The staff was very helpful. Riomaggiore is a good place to stay while you visit the area.

We had a hiking vacation with my wife last summer in Cinque Terre and we stayed in Cinqueterre Residence. The owner really helped us to plan our hikes and gave us information about the restaurants. We have travelled a lot in Italy. Customer service was the "thing" at Cinqueterre Residence and we would propably choose the same accommodation if we ever go back to Cinque terre (maybe?).

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights and were extremely happy with our choice. We had a spacious room and bathroom with an excellent shower, mini-fridge, and semi-private terrace area with a nice view. Carla, the manager, was extremely helpful and friendly. She was very knowledgeable about the town and the hikes between them, suggesting a lesser-known combination of hikes with incredible views when the more traditional "lover's walk" was closed.

As others have said, the B&B is located up the hill that the town's main drag runs down, and then up several flights of stairs. This location is a double-edged sword. It makes for a quieter stay much nicer views that staying somewhere closer to the downtown bars and restaurants. It also makes for a pleasant stroll into town each morning, and winding your way through the twisty stairs and narrow passages makes you feel more like a local. The downside is that the uphill climb home can be tiring, not to mention taking your suitcases up and down upon check-out and departure. The B&B does provide excellent step-by-step directions for finding the site upon arrival though, and we felt that overall, the trade-off was a good one.

At the end of May my husband and I stayed at the Cinque Terrre Residence for five nights. We had a most relaxed, spacious room with large bathroom and our own private terrace overlooking the hills and sea. On arrival, feeling a little exhausted after our rather strenuous travelling day, we were made to feel at home by Carla, Piero and their son David. David offered us a welcome drink and was most knowledgeable with the local area, being able to make good suggestions for walks, etc. Carla was always at hand too to offer advice, or have a chat about local life. Piero was great at suggesting local wines, which we could buy on the premises and have brought to our terrace on a tray.
We visited one of the recommended restaurants twice. It was a ten minute walk around the road, the food was great and the service very friendly. Again the views from the restaurant were to die for. Looking out to the sea as the sun set, with the church spire in the foreground, is a memory embedded forever.
Access to the Cinque Terre Residence, which is situated above the village and therefore away from any noise, is simple. We took the local bus from the village to the top of the steps, where David met us and took our bags to our rooms. On leaving, we decided to walk downhill with our bags; a very easy stroll before boarding the busy trains. WE are from New Zealand and have fairly large bags!
One of the highlights for me was the walk up and down the narrow cobbled streets each day; i.e. the walk between our accommodation and the village. As this path is not available to the public, I felt as if I was a local resident.
Carla, Piero and David, thank you for such a unique experience.

Stayed with wife and another couple for 5 nights in July.

Very nice location at top of hill with view of town. Rooms are modern and clean. Very quiet since it is away from the town center.

Our room had a private balcony/terrace where we could sit at night with our friends and have some wine.

Owner is very helpful and provided lots of information about the area.

By far the service from the manager Carla was outstanding. We arrived very late and Carla had sent us an email with her contact info and some time after midnight we called her, she came from home and set us up with our room. The room itself was spacious and offered great views. The location is half way up the hill in town. Not on the water but not far and close to some great restaurants and shops. They served up expresso and cappuccino to order in the morning with a great spread of fresh fruit, pastry, yogurt and cereal.

Room Tip: get clear directions in advance as it is not easy to find the way in.

We loved this place. With many of the tracks along the ocean closed, we used our time here to relax and refresh. It is very peaceful as it has gorgeous views of the hills or ocean and is away from the train station and busy Main Street. The staff are so warm and friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed a picnic on our terrace in the afternoon and wandering in to town. A great sanctuary and definitely worth that little extra!
