"Locanda del Sole" is an absolutely nice place: with very clean rooms, good breakfast and very kind and helpful host Enrico. Here you can get everything you need, if you want to rest after the long day full of impressions sightseeing in Cinque Terre. We spent 6 nights here and got a nice, clean and spacious room ("Locanda del Sole" is located in the nice and quiet part uphill Riomaggiore), also rich breakfast with great Enrico's homemade capuccino and espresso. Ant, of course, the main thing is that we left "Locanda del Sole" with the feeling, that one day we would like to come back here again. Thank you, Enrico, for your kindness, which made our holidays completely perfect.

Best regards from Rima / Lithuania.

Our family stayed here for 3 days and it was a lovely base of operations for exploring Cinque Terre. It is up a steep hill which made it difficult with our luggage from train station but we relished the workout after all of the delicious meals we had eaten! Enrico was wonderful and very accommodating! Rooms are very clean and Continental breakfast (delicious croissants and cappuccino) was great!

A warm welcoming from our host Enrico, this is just the beginning of our ''fall in love'' with Riomaggiore ! We stayed there from the 8th to the 11th of July.
The hotel itself is a authentic and a quiet place located at the entrance of the village and they have their own private parking. The room is simple but confortable, very clean with a charming terrace. In the morning, Enrico and his spouse make coffee and take care of the guests. The breakfast buffet is good, varied and covers all the needs to start the journey. All of this in a reasonnable price !
Riomaggiore is very beautiful, the main street and the other small ones are awesome with flowers everywhere, nice local people and don't miss the sunset between the sea and moutains. But more than that, it also has a spirit that makes you feel relaxed and appreciate life. It is not a mass tourist place, but more a relax ambiance. We ate very good sea food in more than one restaurant on the main street. The access to the sea is easy but be advise that it is a rock beach.
The other villages of Cinque-Terre are also amazing and can be discoved by train, by boat that offers very nice views of each village or the best way in our opinion is to walk It can take 5-6 hours or more depending how long you are staying in each village but it offers a lot of beautiful landscapes.
Dislike: have to leave...
This village has a special place in our heart and we will never forget it.

Room Tip: Reserve in advance. Try Cinque-Terre wine. Take a big breath and be ready to be amazed !

After a hectic journey we finally arrived..

Enrico the host, was as charming as the many suns that decorated his hotel; I felt so welcome.. The calm and sound of the crickets was a delight, together with the many flowers that decorate the steps leading to the rooms..
Riomaggiore is just so authentic and romantic...!

We enjoyed 3 fabulous days and nights here in late June. We loved the beautiful location, proximity to the main centre of Riomaggiore (without being in the midde of it all) and the inclusion of car parking facility. Most of all, our host Enrico ensured it was a stay to remember for all the right reasons. Woudl love to return some time.

We spent 3 nights here in July and loved it. Enrico is a fabulous host--I saw him go way out of his way for someone who wasn't even staying there but one night, found her another accomodation (she had shown up without a reservation and he only had one night open), took her over there, and found a tour guide for her daughter. He and his wife obviously love what they are doing, which makes all the difference. The climb up the hill isn't that bad, and there are the little green buses that run every hour or so. Beautiful outside terrace with a view of the cliffs and the sea, if you get a room on the top level (oe more flight of stairs but at that point, who cares). Rooms do not get wifi but the breakfast room does, and there's a table outside for afterhours wifi use. The rooms are simple and have ample air conditioning. We look forward to returning!

Room Tip: Ask for the top floor--nice views from up there.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights during our honeymoon trip to Cinque Terre. After dragging our luggage all the way up the steep hill, Enrico politely informed us that there is a less steep path up the hill that we ended up using for most of the time we were there. Important travel tip: turn left out of the train station and go up the less steep path if you have heavy luggage! He helped lift our bags up the two additional flights of stairs on the quiet street to our room, which was large and very clean. It had strong A/C and a ceiling fan which was very refreshing after a long day out, and the well-stocked fridge was an added bonus. The linen and towels were very clean, and the bed was quite comfortable, unlike the other beds we slept on in Italy. The WiFi was only available in the lobby since that's where the router was and our room was two stories higher, but we could still use it outside the lobby after the frog office was closed. The patio area outside of our room was the best touch; I highly recommend that you enjoy a bottle of wine on your private terrace during sunset!

The only drawback I can think of is that the TV was essentially unwatchable, but you don't really go to Cinque Terre for expansive satellite channel options! The breakfast was extensive and filling, with a wide array of fruits, cereals, coffee, breads, and meats for us to make breakfast sandwiches with. Enrico and Maria were fantastic hosts, and they even held our bags for us after we checked out since we wanted to enjoy the town for a few more hours. Would definitely return!
