The stunning view and antiquity of it all holds a special place in my heart. Our hosts at the hotel made us feel so welcome with their warmth and interest in our comfort. We enjoyed sunset drinks and olives in the evening out on the patio each night that were breath taking. Anything we asked for Eugenio and Francesca were accommodating. They went out of their way to ensure we got what we needed.

We stayed for three nights. The main reason for writing this review is that our group of 6 people weren't well prepared for transportation difficulties with our travel schedule coming out of Cinque Terre. Eugenio and Francesca used their own cars to drive us down to the train station at 4 am the day of our departure. They were humble and gracious and wouldn't accept anything for their generosity and time, to which we were so grateful.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in Cinque Terre!!

We were on a two week Trip through Italy and Barcelona. Rome has always my favorite because of the history and architecture, but I believe that the eternal city just got dethroned by Cinque Terra. The hotel is perched on a hillside with an incredible view of EVERTHING! Francesca and Eugenio made our experience extra special by being the perfect hosts, in a magical setting. The were so helpful and personable. They even drove us to the train station at 04:00! They went above and beyond the call of duty. I hope to visit again.

From the first moment I saw the photos of Riomaggiore in books and websites, I knew Cinque Terre had to be on my bucket list for travel. Luna di Marzo was one of the top hotels to stay at every time we typed in "Riomaggiore". Booking was easy and a few days before our trip, I received an email from Francesca with directions and check-in instructions. We took at private mini bus from Milan to Riomaggiore (because the rail was on strike the day we were supposed to come in), when the driver dropped us off in Volastra we walked through cute pathways into a garden of lilies and greenery. When we approached the entrance of the hotel and we couldn't even believe the view! It was absolutely breath-taking! Better than I could ever imagine in my wildest dreams! Francesca was at the front desk and greeted us warmly and checked us in. We met Eugenio, her husband, later that evening. They were very helpful in giving us instructions for catching the shuttle to town and places to see. One of the evenings, Francesca booked us a reservation for dinner at a cute restaurant in Volastra. The woman that took care of our rooms made sure we were comfortable and gave us extra pillows. Breakfast every morning was absolutely delicious! We got to know the family and a little bit out the history of the hotel. Francesca and Eugenio were such attentive and caring hosts. They wanted us to be comfortable and happy. They also went above and beyond any expectations on our last morning, we had to catch the train in Riomaggiore to Milan at an ungodly hour and they drove the six of us at 3:45am in the morning all the down to the train station! They were the nicest couple and we couldn't have asked for better people to host us. They shared stories of their family and they shared pictures from their favorite trips. We will definitely be returning if we ever get the opportunity to come back. Thank you Francesca and Eugenio for making our stay absolutely unforgettable!

Room Tip: All the rooms are a good size and every room has a view. You could probably request a view of the mo...

We were looking for a centrally located hotel to the 5 Cinque Terre villages and Luna di marzo, perched high on the hillside between Manarola and Coniglia certainly fits the bill. When you open the bedroom shutters in the morning and see out across the vineyards to Mediterranean, it's a spectacular sight.

Eugenio and Francesco are wonderful hosts and put on a fine breakfast including scrambled eggs. The rooms are impeccably clean and tidy and the beds comfortable. However, Manarola (the nearest CT village) is a steep, 45 minute downhill walk and while there's an hourly shuttle bus, it stops at 7.30 pm - making the restaurants of the Cinque Terre villages inaccessible without a car. The village of Volastra, where the hotel is located, is small and quiet with just 2 restaurants and no shopping. While this may suit some, others might feel a long way from the action.

Book a room with balcony. Room was very clean, but very spars. Could you some photos or art on walls. Seating on balcony but wall is too tall to ehoy the view while sitting and enjoying a glass of wine. Howeve, you can go to the common patio and enjoy the spectacular views. Great, helpful and courteous staff

Luna di marzo is a great hotel on top of monarola. Very simple to get to as well. Just hop off the train, short walk to the post office, and pick up the shuttle and it will take you all the way up to the little village of Volastra. From there, follow the signs to the hotel. The views from your private veranda can't be beat. Very nice sized room, and the service was fantastic. Definetely recommended.

We happened upon this place when we learned at the last minute that our original reservation elsewhere was changed. We had no where to stay and found this place which had rooms for 2 nights available. It was lovely. It sits atop a cliff with a gorgeous view. We sat on the outdoor patio and had some nice wine. The rooms were very spacious but did not have WiFi. However, the lobby area did. It rained the entire time we were in Cinque Terre but made the best of it. There is a very good restaurant a very short walk from the Luna di Marza. The young couple who owned the place were lovely and a very good breakfast was available. The husband, Eugenio, was very helpful. We won't go back to Cinque Terre but a bad experience was turned into a good one when we found this place.
