First a boring practical detail, if you arrive by car (that is not recommended anyway) parking in CT can really be a hazzle, here you get included a reserved private parking spot, when CT is busy this is invaluable and will save you a lot of headache.
Now on to the magic of Riomaggiore, the terrace in the James Cook suite is absolutely wonderful with a view of both life in the city and to the sea. The room is clean and seem to be renovated relatively recently. It's very nice to make breakfast in the kitchenette and eat outside on the terrace. This was the PERFECT place/room for a romantic getaway. There is no air conditioner but the room was very airy and fresh so we didn't miss one.
The owner is very very nice and will give you good advice how to enjoy CT the best, she helped us with recomendation and booking of a restaurant that was wonderful.
Travelling in Italy often means some confusion (which can be part of the charm of Italy), on the contrary in La Baia di Rio everything is very well organized (booking, payment of deposit for room, instructions for parking, beeing able to communicate in English etc.), all timetables for trains, ferry etc. are posted in the entrance. This gives a very relaxed atmosphere for enjoying the magic of CT.More
