La Baia di Rio is a gem in lovely Riomaggiore. My daughter and I stayed in the Abel Talsman room. The balcony view was breathtaking - especially when the moon was full or a thunderstorm rolled in.
The owners are VERY helpful with ideas of things to do and see. Note that breakfast is not included and there is not a kitchen in this room. We had to plan ahead for breakfast and pick something up the night before or go to town in the am which is about a 1 minute walk straight down. There is a small fridge and 2 single beds. They did have plenty of outlets - something that was hard to find at other hotels. The one concern I did have is that I have allergies to fragrances and the sheets and towels had a fragrant smell. They provided us with ones that did not have a smell which was very nice of them.
To get there we took the train to La Spezia and then a 7 minute train ride to Riomaggiore. The boat ride to all the towns was well worth the money. We got on and off and then took the train back to Riomaggiore. This town is a little less busy than the others which was a plus for us. Love the area - hiking was great!More
