Absolutely loved everything about this spot! Our room was clean & comfortable with a spectacular view of the ocean. Great value, great location. The owner was awesome & super helpful. Best of all...one of the only spot in Riomaggiori with PARKING! The owner personally drops you off & picks you up from the front door step. Keeps your car in a secure underground parking garage. Highly recommend this spot!

Located up above the main part of the city with terrific ocean and town views all the way down to the small port. We bought groceries at one of the tiny stores, local wine, cheese, lemon and other fruits. Maricella, the owner, was really helpful in showing us around, helping open up all the windows and getting us a reservation on short notice at one of the towns best restaurants. We had the top room called the Marco Polo and would recommend to anyone, if available. The room has a small kitchen, huge windows and a great deck. We hope one day to return to both Riomaggiore and hope more to be able to stay in the Marco Polo suite at La Baia di Rio. Reservation was easy and they helped with instructions from the train. With some help from the towns merchants, we rang the door bell and started our 2 night stay from there. A must see when visiting Cinque Terre.

We spent two nights there at the beginning of August 2014. It was a great pleasure doing business with the owner. She is very helpful, very knowledgeable and kind. We (a couple) booked 3 days in advance and we paid via PayPal the deposit. There was no problem when we arrived, the deposit was deducted from our entire accommodation fee. The Villa is really nice, with a great view of the sea and of the Riomaggiore village. The property is very clean compared to an at least 3-4 starts hotel. It has lcd/led tv with cable, fridge, full bathroom, dryer and cabinets. The owner (lady) took us from the entrance of the village to the villa, and she helped us with the luggage. Parking is included free of charge.
Also, the lady owner helped us planning our short trip there in order to get the most out of it: restaurants, day trip, things to see. Also, she speaks perfect English.
Definitely, I will go back again for a longer period.
The price is good (90~120 euros, depending on the room you chose).

Room Tip: Marco Polo, Amerigo Vespucci, Thomas Cook and Cristoforo Colombo.

La Baia di Rio is a gem in lovely Riomaggiore. My daughter and I stayed in the Abel Talsman room. The balcony view was breathtaking - especially when the moon was full or a thunderstorm rolled in.

The owners are VERY helpful with ideas of things to do and see. Note that breakfast is not included and there is not a kitchen in this room. We had to plan ahead for breakfast and pick something up the night before or go to town in the am which is about a 1 minute walk straight down. There is a small fridge and 2 single beds. They did have plenty of outlets - something that was hard to find at other hotels. The one concern I did have is that I have allergies to fragrances and the sheets and towels had a fragrant smell. They provided us with ones that did not have a smell which was very nice of them.

To get there we took the train to La Spezia and then a 7 minute train ride to Riomaggiore. The boat ride to all the towns was well worth the money. We got on and off and then took the train back to Riomaggiore. This town is a little less busy than the others which was a plus for us. Love the area - hiking was great!

Our stay at La Baia di Rio was wonderful! The rooms were clean and lovely. Maristella was incredible! She treated us like family and helped us feel like we lived in beautiful Riomaggiore. It felt like home! We were disappointed to find one of the walking paths closed, but Maristella suggested that we take a boat ride. It was delightful! Cinque Terre is stunning! We hope to stay longer the next time. A few suggestions: It is a walk from where you park your car to La Baia, so if you can take as little luggage as possible up to the room, it will be well worth it; the La Baia di Rio website is excellent and useful when deciding which room to rent. Thank you, Maristella & Emiliano!

This was our first time in Cinque Terre, and Maristella, the owner of La Baia di Rio provided us with a fantastic room, view, location, and advises. Maristella is a very dynamic and fast thinking woman, thanks to her advises we spent two fantastic days and visited all the 5 towns, ate at a great restaurant in Riomaggiore and enjoyed our vacation.

Riomaggiore and Cinque Terre was the first stop on a 4 week italian vacation for us. And the Baia di Rio was a little slice of heaven to start this vacation right! Emiliano greeted us, gave great information about the town, things to do and restaurants to try.

The Marco Polo room was spacious, clean and bright. And the view is stunning. It was the perfect getaway to return to after a day of sightseeing.

My fiancé and I stayed here from July 22-25 (we actually got engaged on our last night there, sitting on our balcony, gazing at the stars!!!) Needless to say we will never forget this place and would recommend to anyone to stay here.

We are now in Venezia, after visiting Firenze and Bologna and still miss the quiet beauty of this lovely place and the wonderful hosts from La Baia di Rio!

Room Tip: Marco Polo room. Large balcony and best view of the town and the sea!
