We had just hiked from Monterosso to Vernazza and we were hot, thirsty, and hungry. I wanted to just buy some take away pizza and eat near the harbor but my husband wanted to cool off indoors and have access to a bathroom. We didn't realize that Baia Saracena had a lovely terrace with umbrelllas to shield you from the sun when we went inside. Service was poor as we were unsure if we should seat ourselves or order at the counter. Eventually we were seated and we ordered a pizza and grabbed some cold drinks for ourselves. Pizza was decent but atmosphere and service were definitely lacking. Pizza was 9 euros but the bill was 18 with cover charges, a small water, and a can of iced tea. If we had sat outside at least we could have enjoyed their ideal location.
