Loved the scenic views of the Mediterranean and the access to hiking as well as ferry and train transportation in this area. Although there were tourist we did not feel crowds here in Vernazza. We enjoyed the sunset as well as quiet dinners with a view. Cute shops and restaurants as well. I hope I get to visit there again!

Came here by ferry. We got on at Portovenere and got off at the last village, Monterosso. On the return journey we decided to stop off here for 45 minutes. Main reason was the lack of steps once we had exited the ferry!! It was a lovely place with lots of shops and tavernas. Very easy to walk around for those with mobility problems. Lovely seeing the village from the coast too!

The whole territory (Cinque Terre) is great, but this is the coziest village of the five. If you had time to visit only one of them, this one should it be. If you picked a second one, then Manarola.
Walk up to the former watchtower for the best view of the bays and the village.

Visit Cinque terre is a unique experience, I loved to walk from one town to the other, climbing the footpath, with the sea near the paradise, you must go......!

We stayed three nights in Christian Carro's apartment overlooking the piazza in Vernazza. So glad we did. The apartment was perfect for two and comnpared to many in Cinque Terre, there were not too many steps to climb to get "home".This place is picture postcard perfect. Access to the other villages by foot, ferry or train was very straightforward. By foot you could walk to Corneglia or Monterosso al Mare. The other tracks were closed due to landslides. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. The Gelateria Vernazza has the best gelato we tasted in four weeks in Tuscany. I'll give them their own review because they serve it. On the Saturday a local couple wedded and the ceremony, dancing and music all took place in the piazza below our window. This was followed by a fantastic fireworks display. The town was packed for the night but the buzz was incredible. Vernazza gets VERY busy during the day at this time of year especially with day-trippers flooding in from the train and ferry but at night it is quiet and much more relaxed.
