Yes, there were a lot of locals eating there. In my mind this means that the people who know like it. The waiters were friendly and helpful and the food was wonderful. I had one of the best steaks I have ever eaten - with gorgonzola sauce. My husband had the gnocchi which he said were as good as he can make - a rare occurence. The caraff of house white wine was a local wine and delicious. All in all a greta place to eat and only 5 minutes from the Best Western Porto antico. Beware of leaving the main street, though, the red light district is just off to the side. You have been warned!!!!!

The restaurant was recommended by the hotel so we booked the table through the reception. Since it is quite small it is advised to make a reservation. We were the only ones that were foreign tourists. A good choice for trying a local Italian restaurant. The service was nice and helpful, we got meals for our kids that were very delicious. Our meat was also delicisous. The only "average" quality was about the desert. Choices of desert were not many... If you want to taste a real Italian food you should definitely go there.

The restaurant was recommended by the hotel so we booked the table through the reception. Since it is quite small it is advised to make a reservation. I have seen some comments at TripAdvisor about the staff who was mostly looking after the local instead of tourists but we do not share this opinion. The service was nice and helpful, we got meals for our kids that were not even in the menu. Simple, great Italian home pasta that I still remember until today and would love to have it it again. My beef carpaccio was also nice and tasty, very fresh meat. The kids enjoyed it as well. If you want to taste a real Italian food you should definitely go there.

We have just finished our Saturday night 's dinner at DaGaia and we really ha great time.
All the staff members are very nice and effective, the quality of food is really high with many possible chioces in the menu.
Not many seats available, so be sure you have advanced reservation if you plan to go in busy days.
Prices are really honest.
Surely raccomanded!

Make a reservation. They cater to locals, tourists are second rate customers to them. The food was fabulous. They have English menus, but do not expect a lot of it to be spoken. Good atmosphere... Service not so good.
