We didn't go looking for Taggiou, but stumbled across it when hunger hit us. We looked at several places to eat and Taggiou looked busy for what was an early dinner and decided to give it a try. The food and service were great and it was clearly a favorite with the local residents. Well worth a visit

I ve been there with friends brought by the rumors heard about this place.
Fankly there is nothing really bad about eating here (as long as you are not that much into food I mean.)
That said the place is nice and kind of original (even though not that much anymore these days) the location is in the heart of the old town (a thing that you might like especially coming from outside genoa).
Wines are decent but the selection isn't as wide as one would like and the food is unfortunately mediocre.
The service is so and so as for the bill that leant on the pricey side in light of the above.

I was visiting Genova for the first time and I found this small trattoria near Le Strade Nuove but a little away of all the tourist traps of the area. The place is cozy and small, with a daily menu including some nice appetizers like prosciuto crudo and mozzarella. I think is a good option if you are near the area visiting museums but definitely not life changing. I ordered a wine of glass, a pasta, and a coffee and I paid 12 Euros.

Very small, cute and full of atmosphere, especially dinning on the second floor under the rafters! Mainly a menu of wonderful, freshly cut meats and cheese, served on a cutting board with excellent wine. I’ve been twice and always order the cold food; look forward to trying the hot selections. The restaurant is always busy! It can be found by walking downhill from Piazza Fontane into the heart of the old city on Via Luccoli, a very pleasant shopping street. When you get to small square on the right, take Vico Superior Ferro and you will see the happy pig on the sign and a large barrel outside. The price for dinner for two is reasonable, but don’t forget to add their excellent wine! Enjoy!
