Wonderfully placed in Genoa harbour all rooms (almost!) overlooking the marina. Just looking outside the window or out on the balcony you feel relaxed. On one side a wonderful replica of a spanish galleon (I think used for the movie Pirates by Roman Polanski) moored alongside the hotel. If you like boats and the sea, it is the perfect place! Biggest rooms resemble the inside of a yacht. Food is good at the restaurant and breakfast (usually included in the rate) provides wide choice for all tastes. Free WiFi in all the hotel, yet quite slow. Walking distance from the aquarium, the porto Antico with restaurants and shops the beautiful Museo del Mare Galata (worth a visit). Crossing the street (rather gloomy at night!) there are the alleys and old squares of hisoric Genoa.

Hotel was recommended to me by family in the area. Quiet, clean, friendly. Good breakfast included. Special weekend rate included free minibar too. Close to old city. Will stay again if I'm ever back in Genoa

very good hotel in the heart of the harbor in Genoa.

very good breakfast.

rooms are nice - yet you need to get a superior room - these are very nice!

the view is stunning from all rooms!

very helpful staff

we had a conference there and the catering / supply was very well organized - again also here very helpful staff!

Room Tip: try and ask for a room facing the harbor - the higher floor the better!

The hotel ticks all the boxes once you are there (the area is not so great for walking out of an evening).

Inside the hotel is is kept to a very high standard and the Reception staff were great.

The rooms are fitted out to a very high standard, with lots of marble in the bathrooms and high speed internet.

I have stayed in NH Marina hotel twice, for 3 and 4 nights respectively. The 1st time was in 07/2010 and the second time in 10/2012, during a short business trips, and the overall expirience was quite similar (and very good) during both of my stays.

The location of the hotel is the good, especially if you have the office located nearby. It is also located next door to the famous “Genoa Aquarium”, as well as quite close walk to the "night-life" area, where you can find nice Italian restaurants and bars. Vast majority of the rooms are facing to the marina side, and there is a small balcony in every room, so the view from the balcony is very calming and nice.

The service is good. The receptionists speak fluent English, helpful and friendly. They also offered me an umbrella when there was rain outside, without me even asking for it (!), which has definitely enriched further my positive experience.

There are all the basic things you need: safety box, mini bar, ironing board, TV (not LCD thought), A/C, high quality soap/shampoo, shoe cleaning cloth etc.

No tea/coffee facilities in the room, as well as were no slippers and bathrobe provided, which I would definitely expect from a 4 stars business-hotel.

The double bed, was big and comfortable enough, same goes for the bathroom.

The breakfast is pretty good, and offers several types of fresh pastry, cheese, ham, bacon, eggs, juice, but only quite average coffee for the high Italian coffee standards :-).

There is a free wireless internet in the rooms (not sure if this situation is the same for all the travelers, and possibly it was part of the deal for my company, which also ordered a seminar in the same hotel), however there is no free-public computer with internet access near the reception, just in case you want to quickly use it for airline web-check-in, and if you want to use one - you have to pay (quite a lot if I remember).

To summarize would say that the hotel gives fair value for money, and would definitely recommend it to all, especially to the business travelers who have to choose a hotel in this area.

Room Tip: Both stays I was given a room with a view to marina, so not sure if there are many (or any) rooms wi...

The NH Marina occupies one of the wharfs of the ancient port, which was entirely renewed in 1992 and houses many attractions, such as the aquarium and the sea museum. It is a beautiful location and is also not far from the historical center (a 15-20 minutes walk). In the past I stayed in various hotels in the center, but I think that that this location is altogether more attractive.
We had a nice corner room with sea view, nice and spacious for three adults. The only (expectable) inconvenience was that you had to walk the entire length of the wharf to go from the entrance to your room at the other extremity. From our windows we had a nice view of the harbor and the "Lanterna" (lighthouse), one of the symbols of Genoa.
Buffet breakfast (included) was very good and plentiful, with all the expected NH staples, like the mini-cupcakes and the raisin rolls (and, yes, the tasty-but-soggy bacon, must be a NH standard operating procedure), with some nice local touches, such as the classical Genoese "focaccia" in addition to standard breads. Breakfast hall (right below our room) also offered a beautiful view of the harbor.
The bill was not cheap, in Genoa you can possibly find cheaper alternatives at the same level of comfort, but we were definitely satisfied with the main reason of our choice, i.e. the unique location.
