“Secure and super clean”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2013

We enjoyed a stay here and were happily met by lovely nuns who were very helpful. The rooms are basic, but sooooo clean! The bathrooms are nice as well. The grounds are very pretty and you feel safe and secure on the grounds also. They have a nice common room that doubles as the breakfast room-it opens to an outside terrace that is very pretty. There are some steps off the terrace that lead to the rooftop, which offers a spectacular view. (they should really put some tables and chairs up there-it was amazing!)

this was a great clean, friendly place to stay-it would be great for families as there are multiple beds per room.

For those with a taste for luxury, this is not your place. It is, however, basic, clean, safe, secure and serviceable, welcoming and convenient. Our room was large enough for 4 people, with tall ceilings, absolutely clean, en suite bathroom, and quiet, with elevator. The grounds were lovely, with a short walk to the sea, to Corso Italia, and a very delicious Italian dining experience at a local restaurant.Nice neighborhood too. We were traveling with teenagers, and we all liked the place. The nuns who greeted us wanted to know all about our family trip, and with few words of Italian, we managed to communicate pretty well. They were encouraging and delighted for us to be discovering the town. We are returning in two months with more family members, and we are all going to stay there, eat a breakfast in the garden plaza, and just enjoy the hospitality, walk down to the sea, and use our time there as our base to travel around town.

This is a very reasonable, well kept place to stay in one of the most beautiful areas of Genova. Run by nuns, surrounded by gardens, with views across the city to the sea, this immaculately kept bed and breakfast is a very basic, scrupulously clean place to stay. Bathrooms and bedrooms are basic but the atmosphere of calm and order is worth the visit a thousand times over. If you have the time take a look around the surrounding area, it is a beautiful place to visit.

Outside Genova city center, not far from the sea front at Corso d'Italia. Bus 42 down the street takes you easily downtown at Piazza de Ferrari and Europe's largest middle age old town !
As 'Soggiorno Marcelline' is managed by nuns, in a convent that became too large just for the convent, you know what you expect. The rooms are very quite as the building is surrounded by a green park. There are mainly single beds (1 to 3) in the monacal rooms. The service is improving year after year, and an effective wifi is now available ! Breakfast is reasonable, italian style, not very heavy. For lunch, just try the restaurant by the 42 bus stop. For dinner, you have to travel downtown, or to pick an "argentinian grill' on Corso d'Italia or a pizzeria which remain at walking distance.

It is beautiful place, walking distance to beautiful Corso Italia. The breakfast served with quite few options and the room rate is worth it. It is also friendly service. In general it is a memorable holiday.
