“Deceptively well positioned close to the city”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2014

A great conference hotel, ideal for the business client across the (very large) square from Brignole Rail station serving East and South Destinations... Pisa, Florence Rome etc only 20 min stroll into the centre of Genoa along Via Settembre to Piazza Ferrari and onto the Old town (or 8 euro by cab) Amongst some of the most comfortable beds I have every slept in, quite rooms with little street noise. Views towards the hills overlooking Genoa or towards the City. Safe and secure environment. Meals were excellent and reasonable (4 star hotel) costs with great service..Typical Italian desk staff, rather aloof and not 'over-helpful' Would stay again if in Genoa as the downtown hotels as beautiful as many are (former palaces/grand homes) sit mostly within the confines of dark alleyways which could feel insecure for some travellers.

Room Tip: Top floor (12th) best for views and next to no NO noise whatsoever

I only had one night here but was very pleased with the hotel. The room was very large, so was the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows wonderful. Nice breakfast with quite a lot of choice. It's about a 25 minute walk along the main shopping street to the city centre, which is a little bit far but the suburb is good and you can also catch a bus just around the corner. Overall I was happy with the hotel. Make sure to realise it's not located near the main train station - I arrived at the wrong one and took a taxi to get here.

We were transferred to this hotel by the Bristol Palace Hotel, in which we had paid and were confirmed through Booking.com.
The hotel is modern and is near the station in a not very attractive area of Genoa. It is a longish walk to the Centro Storico. I would not have chosen this hotel!!!!!!.
The attitude of the reception staff was unhelpful and abrupt. The bedroom, with a comfortable bed, was exceptionally dated with stained carpets, a faulty lighting system and a bathroom which was more appropriate in a less starred establishment.
This is definitely a budget type hotel. Breakfast was in keeping with this sort of hotel, serving the cheapest ingredients.
They also charge for Internet use in the bedrooms, which no 4 star Hotels do anymore.

Room Tip: Do not bother

Finally a hotel in Italy that offers soft pillows!

We stayed here solely to catch up with a friend who was staying at this hotel, but we were very pleased with the location. It is opposite the Brignole train station, close to large shopping street, walking distance to the water front.

Breakfast was good, with the usual things on offer as well we bacon and eggs.

However, for the price paid, and except for the choice of pillow, the room was very basic and small. Drinks from the small bar were overpriced.,

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for "best price". We saved a fair bit on this.

Location is very good, staff is friendly and helpful; rooms are clean, breakfast is richer than many hotels in europe and price is really low. I definetely recommend this hotel. It was better than i expected.

Poor experience at this hotel, especially as it is rated as a top business hotel. At check in, the welcome could have been improved. I had to change rooms as first room had twin beds, after specifically asking for a double bed. There is no safe in the room. No ironing facilities, nor coffee/tea making options. No free wifi except in the lobby, which you have to re-active after 30 mins. Breakfast choices were limited. All in all... shabby attempt at a business hotel, it is a good thing minimal time was spent indoors.
