Stayed at this hotel in November 2012, during a weekend in Italy. With the directions on the website and on site, it's fairly easy to get to the reception, although you'll see it's not the most usual of places. After passing that first obstacle, all the rest works fine: the room seems quite old but it's really clean and neat, albeit quite basic (the "Venetian" floor gives the room a "charming" mood, though). The bathroom is also quite clean. People at the reception were always quite nice, and spoke enough English to avoid any misunderstanding, and to direct us to the "right" restaurant (don't be afraid, it really is a nice and cheap restaurant) and places to go for a walk.
The breakfast is fairly simple (it has everything you would expect, though), but the coffee makes up for all the rest!
On the not-so-good side, the €24-worth parking is nothing more than a small (although closed and guarded) shop where you leave the car (and the keys), and hope for the best. Also, remember not to leave the car there past the check-out time, or you'll pay for the extra-time (we did!)

Great price and great location near Stazione Principe and within walking distance to all attractions in Genova. Big city but lots to see and worth a few days visit. The waterfront is not so great, but in the city centre there are many narrow roads filled with cafes, bars, bakeries and stores selling all sorts of merchandise, and there are plenty of squares with fountains, churches and museums.

We arrived by train in Genoa on Friday afternoon for a long weekend to be spent in Genoa and the surrounding area and stayed for 2 nights with our son and his wife in Hotel Vittoria Orlandini. The hotel is small...more of a boutique hotel and is a bit older, and is located just a few blocks away from the main train station (Centrale) in Genoa.

The hotel's lobby is a small elevator ride up several floors or a walk up several flights of stairs. From the lobby the rooms are another small elevator ride to your floor. We were on the 4th floor in room 131 which faced the back onto the backs of some apartments and onto a narrow bricked street. The room was sparsely decorated but was very adequate for our needs. It had a large shower and plenty of room in the bathroom for my wife and I to get ready at the same time. The bed was very comfortable. If I return I will ask for a room in the front of the hotel which are larger and get more sunlight. Those in the corner open onto small balconies.

The hotel is in a perfect location for those who like to walk and explore. The Old Port is only a few blocks away, as are many older villas and buildings and plazas from Genoa's heyday as a wealthy sea port. The surrounding neighborhood is very interesting with many cafes, restaurants and shops.

As for being connected to the outside world, internet access in the rooms is spotty and the only reliable connection is in the lobby area. This wasn't a big inconvenience for me because the distance from rooms to the lobby is short.

All things considered, our stay at Vittioria Orlandini was a terrific experience and value, and I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Stay on the front side of the hotel.

Spent one night in 104. It has access to the very large balcony, nothing special but felt "special"! Room was clean with a nice large bathroom. Parking is free up the street in a garage but beware it is not open 24/7 if you need to get out early it may be a problem. Good location ti walk to many sights. many food options down via balbi. Good kebabs! The men at the counter were above and beyond helpful! Definitely recommend.

We arrived in Genoa on spec, and found this place near the Railway Station (Principe). You have to take the elevator up one level. But the family who run the hotel were welcoming and helpful. The hotel is furnished in an old style but it is comfortable, our room was spacious and the bathroom was excellent. It was clean and the breakfast was excellent (see photo). There were reasonably priced good quality restaurants nearby and Genoa was a real find. Our room had a view of the harbour-a real working harbour. Loved it and loved Genoa.
