The hotel is located two minutes from the train station and very close to the city center. The rooms were clean and the staff was extraordinary nice! Good deal for the perfect location and a good price with friendly staff.

We plan to stay again in September.Right next to station and port and lots of places worth a visit.
Our room was really spacious with balcony and harbour view.Great vantage point to observe all the comings and goings of cruise ships. Good bed and excellent sleep.
A quirky sort of place which we enjoyed, with really lovely friendly and helpful staff who we really appreciated.
Really great breakfast in very pleasant surroundings and very good coffee.
Reasonable price and will recommend to other friends shortly traveling onwards from Genoa.

Room Tip: To rear of hotel you have sea and port views.

We had a business visit in Genoa. We have spent 2 weeks in Vittoria. In Genoa was very busy because of the international fair, but the hotel is very nice to have rest. And the hotel is a family hotel, and everyone is very kind. If i have time for the holiday, i will come to stay again...
Thanks for everything !

After the crazy way to get to reception I was delighted by the super staff. My room had a great view of the bay. Good good close by. The breakfast was perfect. the room was clean quiet and large. I would stay here again. The internet was free. Thanks Paulo.

Room Tip: Go to the fort above the hotel. Tale the elevator by the hotel enterance.

We came upon the hotel remarkably quickly once out of the railway station. As it is number 33 we expected to pass down the street some way past numbers 1 to 32 but no, it was just past the impressive frontage of the 4-star Grand Hotel Savoia... but were a bit taken aback upon arrival as the hotel doesn't front the street and there is rather weird negotiating of a lift from a very unimpressive passage to gain access to the first floor reception where a warm greeting style was lacking although not something to be bothered about. Then, another lift for our room with a very small flight of stairs to negotiate with a heavy suitcase with, it should be said, no offer of help from the staff. At least the lifts make travelling with heavy luggage no big problem. Room 147 was adequate for our purposes although slightly eccentric with a very small flat-screen TV and a very discordant bathroom colour-scheme,... see the picture.... We requested a room with a balcony and room 147 has one, albeit at the back and with no views but that could be an advantage as there was no traffic noise. With breakfast included in the price, we found the rate of under £50 a night to be acceptable.

Stayed at this hotel in November 2012, during a weekend in Italy. With the directions on the website and on site, it's fairly easy to get to the reception, although you'll see it's not the most usual of places. After passing that first obstacle, all the rest works fine: the room seems quite old but it's really clean and neat, albeit quite basic (the "Venetian" floor gives the room a "charming" mood, though). The bathroom is also quite clean. People at the reception were always quite nice, and spoke enough English to avoid any misunderstanding, and to direct us to the "right" restaurant (don't be afraid, it really is a nice and cheap restaurant) and places to go for a walk.
The breakfast is fairly simple (it has everything you would expect, though), but the coffee makes up for all the rest!
On the not-so-good side, the €24-worth parking is nothing more than a small (although closed and guarded) shop where you leave the car (and the keys), and hope for the best. Also, remember not to leave the car there past the check-out time, or you'll pay for the extra-time (we did!)

Great price and great location near Stazione Principe and within walking distance to all attractions in Genova. Big city but lots to see and worth a few days visit. The waterfront is not so great, but in the city centre there are many narrow roads filled with cafes, bars, bakeries and stores selling all sorts of merchandise, and there are plenty of squares with fountains, churches and museums.
