“Perfect Place to Experience Genoa-Mind the stairs though!”
Reviewed 14 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We stayed here during the first week of September. Our party of 3 contained Me, my husband and our good friend. I would highly recommend this place, should you find yourself traveling to Genoa. Besides having great 360 degree views, you are in an area where you can easily access groceries, 60+ different eateries and tourist excursions such as Museums, the Aquarium and Palaces. Matteo, (the owner), is also very helpful, friendly and respectful of your privacy.

THE GOOD:
1-It's more impressive in person: It is clean, bright and airy, and the pictures do not do it justice! It is larger in person. The terrace is also much more spacious than I thought it would be. Great views from any angle. (see my submitted pics).
2-You'll sleep soundly: Weeks before visiting, I Google Street-Viewed the location of the building. I noticed that the front facade faced a busy street and elevated highway. I was worried about traffic noise in the early mornings, but...NOTHING. Besides being high up from the ground, the bedrooms sit at the opposite end of the flat. Also, the mattresses are comfy and the pillows, quite nice.
3-Great if you're on a budget: Besides the very fair daily rate, this apartment is equipped with kitchen and utensils, such as; pots/pans, spatulas and dinnerware. We would make breakfast every morning to save $$.
4-Parking available: There is a nearby parking garage, Olimpo Parking. It's about 7 blocks away, but you can book online and move the car in and out as you please whilst still maintaining your reservation. This was nice for us, as we planned excursions to Florence and Pisa.
5-Owner is flexible: Matteo is very friendly and communicative. Besides maintaining a clean and tastefully decorated flat, he was easily accessible by phone and email for questions. We don't speak much Italian, but he spoke great English in helping us.
6-Quality Features: Beautiful hard-wood floors that don't creak. Thick hard walls through which you can't hear your neighbors. Operational shutters. The entrance door is strong and equipt with plenty of locks. It's a strong building that has obviously seen much history.

THINGS TO NOTE:
1-No elevators: Though technically a six flight walk-up, you're actually walking up 12 seperate staircases. This is something to consider, depending on how much you plan to pack. We had large suitcases. And although we were all somewhat physically fit, we barely made it up to the flat. Dragging it all back down upon leaving was just as strenuous. When we return, we'll be sticking to carry-on only.
2-Attention American Coffee Drinkers: We love our Lattes or Americanos... and if you require coffee upon waking, (like my husband), you'll probably have to change over to espressos for your stay. No coffee machine/French Press. The espresso maker worked just fine however, and we were happy.
3-Water pressure a tad low: Nothing unbearable, but it gets a little tricky when both showers are operating at the same time. The water temp seems to maintain for the most part, but don't plan on showering with your significant other to save time in the mornings.

“Brilliant apartment in the historic centre with an amazing rooftop!!”

If you're looking for a spacious apartment for good value and love rooftop terraces then this is it!! Apartment was also very clean and bright and airy....bring your sturdy legs for climbing all those stairs after too many plates of ravioli :)
Owner was extremely nice and there are lots of books and maps in the apartment to help you get round the city.
Location is also perfect if you want to experience the old town of Genoa and the beautiful "caruggi."

“This is the best view in Genoa and the best location”
Reviewed 11 May 2014 for a stay in April 2014

This apartment was the best of 5 apartments we rented in Europe for this vacation. The apartment was immaculate, the amenities were great and our host let us enjoy our time there without interruptions.

We were a group of 4 senior citizens with the oldest being 70 and although we were concerned about going up what seemed like an insurmountable number of stairs (7 floors worth since in Europe the 1st floor is 0), we survived and enjoyed the great views from both the windows to the sea and the terrace above the apartment.

This apartment is located on the sea front and within easy walking distance to a "Lanes" type of area where there are many restaurants, bars, and gelato stores. Getting to the apartment is a short and easy ride in a cab (5-10 mins).

There are plenty of tourist sites in Genoa and you should buy all day passes because you will be on and off buses alot outside of the "Lanes" area.
