Given the prices in Genova, a nice city but not that interesting, this htel is fine: free parking, unexpensive, clean, good heating, free wifi on lobby and tv room. Of course, I wouldn't recomend it to spend a week, but I wouldn't recommend spending a week in Genova anyway, so I think this hotel is a good option for a day or two.

From the minute we walked into this place it just looked and felt really old, cold and odd. I think this was some sort of institution at one time (a hospital ward, nursing home, something like that). Even the front doors, and doors in the hallways had tho7se big metal push panels you only find in places like that. There were only lights on in some areas that made the whole place dark and scary. They have these large common rooms for watching t.v., having breakfast, etc., (that's another reason for the nursing home reference) which were just so cold (linoleum floors, bright lights) that you really did not want to stay in any of them. There was a marble troth in the hallway off the lobby area, for what, I do not know, and probably don't want to know.
Now to the room, it literally felt like a hospital room. No pictures on the walls, only two old nails sticking out, cracked paint on the walls, and scaffolding outside the window. I slept in my clothes because I despised the dirty beadspread and this place so much.
DO NOT STAY HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!

This hotel deserves a review simply because our room had the most available outlets we've ever seen in a hotel room anywhere --about six or eight! So if two of you each have a laptop, phone & camera, etc. you're in luck. We didn't have to unplug the TV or a lamp to be able to plug in all our electronics. Unfortunately, there was no Internet in the rooms, which would have been handy since you could actually keep your laptop plugged in. (We were told Internet was available downstairs in the common area.) The room felt spacious. Although it was a typical style with small sleeping area with long entrance going past closet and bathroom, both the closet and bathroom were large so the "hallway" was longer than usual in our room. There was a suitcase rack as well as chairs around a small table. I liked the wooden floors, not real plank wood but nice enough and cleaner than sticky or worn carpets and warmer than tile. There was a small table outside our room with magazines--nice touch--and a large common room on main floor with giant screen TV on which someone was watching an Italian movie. We had to leave early before breakfast but the desk reception clerk kindly on his own brought us coffee. Hotel is hard to find at night, up some narrow streets, but the parking is good. Our room overlooked the parking lot and was very quiet. They advertise a "sea view" and I didn't actually check it in the morning light but I suspect our room had a partial sea view through other buildings.

The hotel has an own parking with enough places. The rooms are large. If you walk down the hill, you can catch the bus which takes you to the center in 15 minutes. It was not possible to shower or wash in the morning, because there came hardly any water out of the taps. Breakfast was not good at all. The hotel was a bit too far from the center to go there on foot.

We stayed in this hotel for 1 night. The location was quiet but a bit away from historical center and aquarium so we needed the car to go around. The room was clean but nothing special for the €85/night it costed (special non-refundable price). The bed was comfortable but the bathroom could have been a bit better maintained. The breakfast was just ok, providing the basics. Stuff were very helpful and replied kindly to all our questions, they spoke english and were generally very nice and friendly.
We chose this hotel because it offered free parking, so if you travel by car and you are not looking for anything extraordinary it is an ok choice.

Good breakfast. Very very helpful staff, large room with comfortable beds and good bathroom. Location not handy to anything, really. Two blocks to the bus stop, then another three blocks walk from bus stop to the train station. The manager Mafalda Papa is the greatest- she works hard and long hours, speaks great English and is eager to keep her guests happy.

We picked this hotel based on other reviews but did find it a little isolated when it came to eating out. It's a 5-10 minute walk to the sea, but all we found there was a pizzeria which was disappointing. We later discovered there's a very friendly nearby trattoria called (I think) Trattoria Anders (the hotel staff know it) which serves good food and specialises in fish.

The hotel has an institutional feel to it (I could believe it was once a school as another reviewer mentioned) but is clean and spacious. Breakfast was good, and there is free off-street parking. All in all not a bad bet but I don't think I'd go back.
