The Melioa is superbly positioned in Genoa and is a quiet, high quality hotel. The staff and service are exemplary and the rooms welcoming and comfortable.
We visited for 3 days and walked almost everywher from here with no issue.
There are also some great resaurants and ice cream shops neaby.

A highly recommeneded visit

Had a great stay at this hotel. The staff in reception were very helpful in pointing out the main attractions and booking a restaurant for the evening. The room was spacious, with excellent beds and a good size bathroom. The buffet breakfast was
The hotel is located only about 20 minutes walking from piazza ferrari (the main square). This for us means that we had the advantage to be able to get away from the hustle and bustle of downtown genova and have a good nights rest. There is a taxi rank just opposite the main entrance, so getting around from here is pretty easy.

Room Tip: Rooms not facing the main street are quieter

Good value.
Staff were very helpful. Gave us (tourists) a map and showed us nice places to go in the city.
Breakfast offered a wide range of food and drinks. Pool area was very nice, and quiet too.
Room was very high end and spacious. Hotel in a great location with very little outside traffic noise.

Having stayed at a few hotels in the Melia chain I had good expectations of this hotel and I wasn't disappointed. The building itself is beautiful and the room we stayed in was nicely designed with plenty of space. The facilities in the hotel were good, with a great choice of breakfast (served until a civilised 10:30am) and excellent health spa facilities.

Reception staff were friendly, helpful and gave some good restaurant recommendations.

The location of the hotel is within a reasonable walk of most of the places we wanted to go (be warned - Genoa is a hilly city) and there's a nice bar over the road with an outdoor terrace for drinks on a sunny day. Overall, a great stay - would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: Worth shopping around online to get a good price!

Loved our stay at Melia. Quite tricky to find! But once youve nailed it, it should be fine from there. (didnt like the bar opposite- Mattoni Rossi!).
Great staff. David the Englishman from Leicester esp good ( we wish him all the best) and the chap on reception helped with what to do on a Sunday.
The bar is quite expensive but if you book through Melia direct and reigister for Melia Rewards you get 14 E per night to spend in house. (for some reason however a charge for 10.5 E was not refunded-shouldve looked at bill on checkout! ) Also there is a city tax which i must have missed somehow!
The bar gives snacks aperitivo with the drinks and a few bits of prawns and kiwi etc.. which seems to happen everywhere. Nice touch.
Slightly out from the main city but no bad thing.
Brilliant for Brignole station however which goes east of Genova. Ie. Nervi. Portofino. Camogli. Cinque Terre. We used the hotel as a base really to go to other places
Principe station quite a distance away but as we didnt wish to go west of Genova wasnt an issue.
Breakfast very good. Lots of selection although didnt vary at all. Perhaps some mushrooms for a change or even baked beans.
Really happy with hotel though bar minor niggles like pool isnt very big at all and others mentioned.
Yes we would go back.

The place to stay. Gorgeous interior design. Excellent breakfast in elegant setting. Had a dirty glass with toothpaste stains on bottom when we arrived in room in bathroom which I brought to reception but it was never replaced. The toilet also did not stop running. I put a note on it but it was not fixed when we returned. I told them about it the next morning buyt it was not fixed and no note from the manager. Aside from these small things it is a really special, super clean and elegant hotel.

This hotel was excellent in every way. The room was comfortable, immaculately clean, and stylishly designed. Free wifi, and free breakfast are a quick way to win my affection. The breakfast was beautiful, easily the best free breakfast I've had in any hotel, not just in Europe. The pool was gorgeous. The spa and gym area were clean and serene. This hotel was an absolutely amazing deal for the price. The entire experience was perfect.
