Good locationin in the old friendly city center.but in a quiet lane.very clean and comfortable.

the hotel managers,Isabella and Fabio are the best and friendly encounters.They maid our time interesting and delightful.They told us about nice places to visit and good restaurants nearby to go.

breakfast menue was a little limited.

Really nice hotel. Clean and all new cause it was rebuild recently!
Nice service. Free wifi and close to the station. Easy to go cause is well connected cause it's in the center of La Spezia. Nice people and atmosphere

I read two stars hotel and I thought was a bad one, but this one deserve 4 stars without no doubt! it's new! all clean and nice people work there.
really close to the station of La Spezia, so really comfortable if you go at 5 earths for a weekend for example

First off, contrary to what was said by the previous reviewer, the hotel tax is payable at each hotel in Italy and is quite separate from the room charge. No problem once you understand this. We found the staff very friendly and helpful, We had a very nice two bedroom apartment. The only problem was finding the hotel initially and then following their instructions on how to get to the parking location. Very handy to walk down to the ferry to go by boat along the Cinque Terre. Breakfast was good, although food that had run out was quite slow being replaced. Great location right in the middle of the town with numerous restaurants and shops close by. It is also fairly close to the train station. We stayed two nights here and would happily recommend it to others.

1) I lost the official paper where I had it written out how much I was suppose to pay for the room, but the receptionist insisted that in Italy,the hotel tax fee is not included in the rate of the rooms. Although I was sure it was not true, I asked again to make sure, she rudely pointed to the invoice and replied " ROOMS ARE NOT REFUNDABLE"..so I had no choice

2)all the dishes were remained uncleaned on the tables, only very few breakfast food was left when I got there at 100 (although they finish breakfast at 10 30), i found some unused spoons with STAINS and the food quality was just horrible. The environment just made me want to leave right a way

thanks a lot to share your opinion.

We are really surprised to read a such negative opinion and to be accused of "tricking" , when we simply applied the law.

Honestly we really don't understand what is the problem with the tax.
From 1st March 2012 in La Spezia every guest must pay the city tax (it's not an hotel tax, as you wrote). It's 1,5 euros per person each night, so in your case 3 euros.

This 3 euros are not for us, but we have to give it monthly to the La Spezia municipality. It's a local city tax, so no every city apply it. I hope this is clear.

The reservation you made was with a "not refundable rate" so you pay in advance, except the city tax.
You are complaining about a city tax that many cities worldwide apply, and we are 100% (and more!) sure that any details was clearly mentioned in your reservation confirmaton, in any OTA you made it. You wrote that you lost it, but you have a copy also in your email.

About breakfast service: our service works between 08am until 10:30am. You asked to do the breakfast at after that hours, so you found the breakfast room with the cleaning service at work. We could refuse the breakfast service but we want to be polite also if guests comes after breakfast time service, but it's normal to don't find everything available.

We always suggest to read with attention all the details of a reservation, before write inaccurate things that may confuse other guests.

If you plan to make La Spezia your base for visiting Cinque Terre, Golfo de Poeti, and environs, Crismar is very convenient - close to the train station, close to bus stations and to the city center for restaurants and shopping. They did not have parking available but you could park at the central train station for a daily fee. Some of the staff were really friendly and helpful, providing tips for parking, restaurants and brochures and maps for places to visit. The room was clean. However, they could improve on providing real glasses and not plastic cups in the bathroom and providing adequate supplies, no tissue paper, no soap. The sink was not draining properly. Breakfast was basic and had no variety. We stayed for 5 days and it was the same everyday. Sometimes, if you are late, nothing left and replenishment is slow.

thank you for your opinion.
We are very glad that you enjoyed the stay in our hotel, and we are sorry to read that you found some imperfections in your room: our cleaning service is provided by a professional company, so we will report them your problem.
Plastic glasses in the bathroom are our choice: is more hygienic (disposable) and less dangerous than glass.

We read with very interest any opinion about breakfast: we're trying to do our best and now a bakery bring us every morning a selection of fresh cakes and pastries, with cream, chocolate and marmelade. We provide also fresh fruit (bananas, grapes, pricly pears), toasted and fresh bread, white and with fruit yogurt, ham and cheese. We recently introduced canned fruit and to drink we provide tea, coffe, orange juice, hot/cold milk.

We are a two stars hotel but i think that we miss only scrambled eggs and little else to be compared to three or more stars hotels.

About the service, probably there was some little problems due to high season and the girl that prepare the breakfast in the morning may have some difficult to serve all the guests together in case of fully booked hotel.

I hope to see you soon again in our hotel, thank you very much!

Located on the main pedestrian street in centro, La Spezia, Italy this family-operated hotel is clean, comfortable, quiet, and convenient.
We, and two other couples, stayed three nights and used the hotel as our day-trip base for visits to the famous Cinque Terre area of Italy.
The hotel is a great value for the money. Close to a number of good restaurants and interesting shops. We highly recommend it!
