Residence Olivium is a hidden paradise in the Apennine Mountain Chain in the North of Italy. We took GPS directions in order to get to destination on top of the hills surrounding La Spezia.
After arrival we were stunned by the view that the location offers over the mountains and rolling hills dying into the Mediterranean sea. The weather is always cool thanks to the sea breeze that incessantly sweeps the rolling hills.
The complex is newly built and offers parking place and accommodation for about half a dozen rooms with kitchen facilities included. Each rooms overlooks the stunning panorama.
I have visited the complex more than once and each time I have found the hospitality of the guests very charming indeed.
Breakfast is not provided as such yet but as a guests we could rely on the very well provided network of surrounding bars and restaurants.
The rooms are immaculate clean. Staff is very courteous. This place is also ideal for trekking and biking because of its location mid way up the hill. We could either go out at night in the local area for dining or go to La Spezia or Cinque Terre area. For me this was an ideal place also because of the unique combination of sitting in a lush natural spot and yet close to all local amenities in one of the best areas of Italy where food, wine, artistic and historical heritage, marry each other in unique ways. The swimming pool offers an additional point of interest on the days where we felt lazy and not wanting to venture out anywhere. Value for for money is defInitely included in the offer. All in all a quite and charming accommodation that I would recommend to anyone visiting the area.
