This was a lovely and friendly place to stay away from the hectic Cinque Terre but within easy reach. The studio apartment was well equipped, modern, clean and quiet. The swimming pool, set a little away from the residence, looked inviting although we didn't use it ourselves. Thank you to Filippe for his warm welcome and all the valuable information he provided. He went out of his way to help. Also thank you to Vivek for the supplies for our trip and the 'apertivi' we enjoyed whilst relaxing in our courtyard. Highly recommend Olivium to anyone travelling by car.

On our trip through Italy we booked 3 nights in the Residence Olivium. We were very warmly welcomed by Filipe. The guesthouse is perfectly located, quiet, very clean with a well equipped kitchen and a private pool.
After the first night we decided to stay one more night. Filipe helped to switch all the other reservations. We just had a perfect stay here!

I headed over to Italy last weekend with my husband to experience the warm weather and amazing food. We decided on Cinque Terre but due to the last minute planning most of the good places there were booked out and my husband came across Olivium in La Spezia. I mostly had mixed feelings about living in La Spezia since the whole point was to visit the Cinque Terre. But boy was I happy about our choice when we headed to Rio Maggiore the next day! The 5 towns though quaint and extremely pretty are overrun by tourists.
Olivium was our escape from all that and we were so glad every evening to return to our quiet apartment with some great views. Upon arrival we were greeted by Felipe, the caretaker who provided us with all the information we needed to get around including train schedules and free parking spots. The owners, Vivek and Nicola were extremely friendly and gave some really nice suggestions on places to visit (apart from Cinque Terre) which were a convenient distance from here. There are no meals served here but Vivek does bake some delicious Banana bread and cupcakes every morning. Also a number of good restaurants are walking distance from here. Apart from the other places (which Felipe will very enthusiastically pitch to you) do try the Agriturismo which is a 2 min walk up the hill. We decided to give it a try on our last night and were not disappointed. Even though not restaurant like but good home style 6-7 course meal cooked with a lot of love by Nadia.
We enjoyed our 5 nights at Olivium thoroughly. Any negatives, if at all were the fact that our room was not serviced even once while we were there. Probably they would have if we had asked but we didn't really feel the need!

Pros:
- Rooms are spacious and they feel brand new
- Great facilities (a full-blown kitchen, a pool - although we didn't try it).
- Great view over La Spezia
- A friendly attitude, very informative (all the information for visiting Cinque Terra was provided to us on arrival).

Cons:
- No breakfast for the price.
- A bit hard to find (one road is closed and your GPS might not be aware of it).
- A tough drive to reach the place and you have to do it to reach Cinque Terre or for going to restaurants in town.
- The hot water was over in the middle of our shower (they have some boiler issue).

Overall - we would still recommend it as a base for Cinque Terre.

We had a beautiful self-catering apartment for three nights with a superb view over La Spezia, the sea and the mountains. Although the suite is fully equipped for cooking, we preferred to follow Philippe's kind suggestions for an excellent restaurant not far from their place. The property has a parking outside its limits and also a pool. The place is few kilometers from La Spezia, very quiet and surrounded by forest on its Northern sides.

Five kilometers from Olivium there is a free parking area in La Spezia, from where one can walk 10 minutes to the train station for all Cinque Terre destinations. A perfect place for a perfect vacation!

We really loved this place. Indeed a steep road uphill but the place is worth it. Not far from the train station and several shopping markets. Lovely place with a private parking. The room has its own kitchenette and very nice bathroom. With nice weather you are to use the pool. The owner is very friendly and helpful. We can recommand this place!

Very nice apartments with terrace and great view over the hills of La Spezia. We visited Cinque Terre (departure by boat in La Spezia harbour and return by train as recommended by Felipe), the white marble exploration sites in Carrara (jeep tour is an exciting experience). We also visited Lucca (Toscane) and spent a few hours at the sandy beaches nearby Lerici. In late afternoon we often relaxed at the swimming pool of the Olivium residence. We were very charmed by the great hospitality of Veronica, Felipe and their family. Got excellent tips for excursions and restaurants, which we considered an important added value to the success of our stay in the Olivium Residence. Thank you for everything!
