“Perfect Pizza, good price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 September 2013

Maria, the owner of our Lunamar guesthouse suggested Pulcinella as the best Pizza house of La Spezia and moreover : very affordable and nearby. Reasons enough to give it a try !

And yes, it is. Price for a pizza ranges between 3,50 for the simple to 6,00 euro for the most sophisticated pizza , freshly prepared in traditional italian oven. 1 liter of white wine : 5,50 euro. Linen tablecloth and napkins. Good service. What do you want more ?

“Great pizza!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 May 2013

The lovely Arianna at the Hotel Firenze e Continentale suggested this place for a decent pizza near the hotel.

We ordered the pizza al funghi (6 euro) and the pizza four stagioni (pomodoro, mozzarella, prosciutto, funghi, carciofi and wurstal) for 7E. Both were excellent – thin crispy crusts and tasty toppings.

As well, insalate verde (3E), ½ litre wine (2.80 E), mineral water (1), and pane and coperto (2E per person). The wine was very ordinary and just drinkable. The salad was a disgrace – shredded lettuce.

Service was great.

Despite the poor quality vino della casa and green salad, it was still excellent value for money.

“Pizza and seafood to perfection”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 March 2013 via mobile

The staff were friendly and found us a table here on a busy Sunday night. They seemed to made an extra effort for us setting the table with a white tablecloth and fabric napkins (no other diners near us had them though). It is more well know for its pizza which my friends enjoyed. I tried the frittura pesce which was delicious and great value. The house red wine was good too.

This place is very busy each night - for a reason! The food was amazing, great selection of pizzas. Attentive service and amazing deserts.

“bustling place, good food, Neapolitan pizza in the heart of Linguria.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 November 2011

A couple of blocks from the train station, right at Piazza
Garibaldi, in the center of the city.

Good food, very reasonable, young and efficient wait staff
(that spoke English); this is a bustling place, which was
entirely filled with locals. Neapolitan pizza in the heart
of Linguria.

Here on Nov. 01 - All Saints evening - this is where local
residents came out to eat. No one rushed people to leave.

We had a huge meal earlier in the day, and wanted something
less than a full dinner. We ordered two pizzas, baked in a
brick oven. We could have gotten away with just one.

My wife had the Siciliana - olives, capers, anchovies on a
tomato base, covered with mozzarella. I had the Neptuno -
baked fruit of the sea on the pizza - no tomato sauce, just
the juices of the delicious sea bounty on the bread of pizza
Chunks of calamari, squid, mussels, clams, shrimp - a
seafood lovers' paradise. Crusts on both were thin and good.

Yes we would go back, and yes we recommend this place.
