A 4-star facility in a 3-star package! Beautifully appointed accommodation, friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast (included), extremely convenient location only steps from the train station. Would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: On a slightly picky note, we stayed in Room 145 on the fourth floor, and traffic on the street below...

Location is perfect for train connections either on Intercity trains or Regional to do the Cinque Terre walks or visit towns. The hotel is clean, the rooms good size for a short visit and the breakfast served on the top floor is very good for you to start the day.The staff were excellent and very helpful in all regards to recommending and making bookings. We would be very happy to return.

The Hotel Firenze has been a great stay for us. Just diagonally to the left as you exit the station. The hotel is very well maintained and has a nice atmosphere and feel.
We stayed in one of the mid range rooms and it was the largest room we have had in 3 weeks of travel. The bathroom was a good size, well appointed and appeared to have been renovated relatively recently. We found the bed comfortable - so much so that we slept late every morning of our stay! Oh well, we are on holiday!
Breakfast was good and served on the top floor at the back with a pleasant view over the hills.
Staff were pleasant and helpful and particularly patient with one large group who were being quite demanding as they were checking in for their one night.
The only thing that could have added to our stay would have been free WiFi in rooms instead of just in the downstairs area, but downstairs is better than nothing!
All in all a great stay and a hotel I would happily come back to or recommend to friends.

We stayed here because we couldn't get a place in Cinque Terre. As it turned out, I am glad we did. The hotel is very nice, the rooms are large, the beds are comfortable, the bathroom is good size and very nice. A good breakfast is included. The location is great, two blocks from the train station. One day we took a forty minute bus ride to Portovenere and hiked to Campiglia. The next day we took a train to Riomaggiore, hiked to Manarola, hopped on the train to Monerosso walked around for a while, had a late lunch and grabbed a train back to La Spezia.

Positives:
Good Location close to the train station
Good Location for day trips in the area
Nice rooms
Good Beds
Good Bathroom
Good Breakfast
Free Internet

Negatives:
La Spezia has lots of coffee bars, but not very many restaurants

I would recommend this hotel.

Hotel Firenze was a five minute walk from the railway station which was such a bonus being that we were there to walk the Cinque Terra. The hotel ambience was stunning and the staff were very friendly and ever so professional. We were thrilled on entering our room - it was the best we had experience during our 9 week trip. I did request a room with a balcony and was told that other rooms in the hotel had renovated larger bathrooms but I still decided on the balcony - not that the view was great as during the day we were exposed to the train tracks but at night it was fantastic to sit outside and view the scenery of lit up houses on the hills at the back of La Spezia. The breakfast room at the top was gorgeous and the breakfast supplied was magnificent - everything one could want. There was also a little bar room for those who returned at the end of the day for a quiet drink and nibble. We could not fault this hotel and having travelled extensively within Australia for a wine company, this hotel would compare to many in Australia. I did hear an Australian couple complaining about the size of the lift but I think everyone who has travelled overseas knows the lifts are small and just accept what is available. Maria, the owner, a very charming lady, does everything within her power to ensure her guests are happy. She certainly sets a very high standard for the hotel and her staff. I did have a problem with the computer and internet but she offered me her own personal laptop - how generous!! We stayed at the hotel for 8 nights and on our departure to Milan at 4.00 a.m. we were presented with a breakfast parcel to take with us by Mauro. It contained everything we could possibly have eaten in the breakfast room.
What else can I say other than pay a visit to this hotel as you will absolutely love it - we did!!
My only disappointment was posting this review six months late - I had trouble with my password for Tripadvisor

Room Tip: I always ask for room with a balcony as we like to sit outside at night and also the room to be on t...

Received review like this make happy to work as director in this hotel. Thanks to this couple. I have understood that the clients point of view are all the time different. About this review the part that have impress me most is the one related to the comments of other Australian clients make complains and the reply of the this lovely couple that has taken our defense. We try everyday to do our best and improve our services without lose the human touch because we believe that in our sector the clients have to fell at home.
So I will continue to give my laptop to my clients if this helps them to solve a problem and to make breakfast bags take away for all my guests when they leave early in the morning.

1st hotel with carpet in the room during my 11days trip in Italy... I think carpeted floor is important during winter as we do not need to put up with the cold flooring in the morning...

It was quite close to the street so if you open the window, it can be quite noisy... We were lucky that we stayed on the 1st floor. Cos all the others had to queue to go up to their rooms as the lift can only accommodate 1-2persons with luggage each time.

It has free Wi-Fi at the bar.... A short walk away and you can find Kebab or Japanese food..
