This hotel has a certain old world charm about it. Our brief to the travel agent was to find us somewhere close to train and bus terminal, affordable and with access to car garaging.

The hotel fit the brief very well, the staff were friendly and helpful our only quibbles were not having a fridge in our room and very patchy Wifi. Apart from that we got what we paid for.

The big bonus was being opposite the termini for easy access to the Cinque Terre by train. We also travelled to Pisa by train. We did enjoy the ferry between the villages more but a we had tickets fir both train and ferry we mixed and arched over several days.

A word of warning on train tickets, we copped a fine fir nit validating our train ticket. While the ticket was fully paid we were not aware you ave to put it through a little green device to validate it. We realised afterwards the tickets ave open dates so validating it show you have acknowledged its use and won't try to reuse but the was not explained by the bigliatuerri, ticket attendant.

Well appointed and exceptionally well furnished hotel. Great facilities, exceptional customer service, 100 metres to station. We were on level 2 and heard no road or train noise whatsoever. Staff speak perfect English and super helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Clean room, really nice bathroom; Rooms facing the street have a lot of traffic noise, but when I asked for a new room with less noise (in the middle of the night) the front desk was very helpful and moved us to a center room without the noise (great service). Easy access to the train, and we loved the breakfast (nice view from breakfast room)

This hotel is well located right near the train station and underground car park if you arrive by car.
The rooms a pleasant and the bathroom are great as they have been recently renovated breakfast was ok and the staff were nice.
This hotel is very good food money a ideal location to get the train to the cinque terre.

Hotel was perfect as location from which to go to Cinque Terra. Roms were quiet, breakfast was good, staff was helpful. Older hotels even when remodeled are not like Marriott and that is what gives them character. Train station access couldn't have been better and like a previous reviewer said, the trains are more like subways and extremely quiet. La Spezia was also fun to explore and less touristy than some cities. We had a great time.

Room Tip: This was first hotel we stayed in that when we entered room, the shutters were closed so the room was dark. I complained and caused somewhat a ruckus like a fool trying to change to a brighter room. The clerk opened what I thought were fixed shutters and the room was full of light.
