We stayed at the Hotel Firenze while we explored Cinque Terre since it was conveniently located near the train station. The hotel lobby looked the lobby of a five-star hotel with ornate chandeliers and marbling. However, the hotel rooms were quite the contrary. The old rooms were decorated with peeling wall paper and smelled a bit like mold, which I think was emanating from the carpet. Our shower drain was completely backed up, so needless to say after two showers, the bathroom was flooded, which may have explained with the room smelled like mold. In addition, the beds were about as comfortable as sleeping on a rock slab, but at least the pillows were big enough to fold in half. If you're looking for a convenient place to stay for Cinque Terre, you might want to skip the Hotel Firenze and check on the hotels in Cinque Terre.

This hotel is a great base for exploring Cinque Terre. Hotel Firenze is conveniently located just steps away from the train station. Cinque Terre pass cards are available for purchase at the front desk.
My only qualms about this hotel were that when we checked in we were asked for our passports - our passports were not returned to us until several hours afterwards. Also, baggage storage is not very secure. When we asked to store our bags for the morning we were told to place the bags ourselves in an unlocked room.
Overall though, an average experience at a good hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We reserved a quad and got 2 adjoining rooms with 2 bathrooms! The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious and with air conditioning. Everyone at the front desk was friendly and helpful. My kids loved the buffet breakfast (included) and had fun cooking soft boiled eggs for themselves. The location is very convenient - just 5 minutes from the train station and 5 -10 minutes from town. Although the hotel is so close to the station, we did not hear any trains at all. Great hotel!

Lovely surprise. Clean, elegant hotel. Lovely, helpful staff. Fabulous breakfast, beautifully served. Perfect location for a base - opposite station but very quiet. Really enjoyed our stay. La Spezia itself was a great surprise. Plenty of choice for eating and interesting town to explore.

We enjoyed our stay here. Very near the station, easy flat walk to the ferry area. Rooms clean, though rather small – but we were not in the room for very long. Breakfast outstanding. Pleasant atmosphere in dining room. Professional staff. Dining room staff friendly.
