My husband and I stayed here for three nights and it was a great base for exploring the Cinque Terre area. Rooms were clean and the recycled decor was a nice change from standard hotels. The staff were very helpful too with advice on the best places to visit and how to get there as well as restaurant recommendations. Would highly recommend this place. P.S The whole meal croissants at breakfast was a favourite too!

Grazie!
a presto

Stayed there recently (21-24 May) & find the place exactly as pictures shown on booking website. Room is clean & compact. Breakfast is simple yet sufficient.
Pros:
There's elevator in the building (very important because our luggage was heavy)
Room is clean & comfy
Breakfast included in price
Not sure if they have aircon in summer but they did provide a small table fan for us.

Cons:
20mins walk from train station (slightly more if first time there navigating with luggage)
Only 1 mirror in the bathroom, ideal if there's a full length mirror in the room.
No safe provided in the room.

Direction to hotel:
Outside train station (facing main road), turn left & walk down the street until you see a tunnel to your left.
At that junction, cross over to the plaza across from the road. Continue down the street in the direction of the fountain. Just walk straight all the way till you see Max Mara boutique on your right, turn right to the alley after Max Mara and you'll see the sign board of the B&B.

I'll definitely recommend Albergo delle Spezie to my friends.

If you are driving a car, this place will be a challenge to find . . . it is in the "walking zone" of La Spezia. So find a place to park near the Giardini Pubblici (huge park along Viale Italia) and then walk to the hotel. It's a lovely walk and the location is very nice. The hotel itself has been done up in a very eclectic style with lots of "recycled" artwork. For example, they had some cardboard carton packaging hung as shelving. It actually is done up quite well. The rooms are about the size as most other hotel rooms in Italian cities, and are kept neat, tidy and clean. The bathroom was also standard sized with a small shower that is also the custom across Italian cities - it was clean and tidy as well. The location is IDEAL for if you want to visit the Cinque Terre towns, but want to stay in a more city-like location with more people. Some folks may prefer the remoteness of Cinque Terre - but if you prefer to feel more "connected" to activity - La Spezia and Albergo delle Spezie is a great option. It's a great value for the euro!

We loved our stay here, great base for visiting the cinque terre (20 mins walk to station) After all the bulk standard hotels we have stayed in so far, this one is really unique. We love the ethos and all the creative recycled furniture pieces made by the hosts, who were really helpful and kind. Nice breakfast too.

My wife and I stayed in La Spezia as a launching pad to see Cinque Terra. We stayed at the hotel only one night, but we will not forget the place. The hotel was decorated with unique recycled objects. The rooms were large and comfortable. The fellow guests were great and the owners (and their little girl) were charming. Great breakfast, including whole wheat croissants, to start the day. I would recommend this hotel for anyone.

When we booked this hotel at last minute, I had no idea what to expect.
We walked there from the station(20min) and found it with ease. It was in a beautiful shopping area with lots of nice cafés and restaurants with decent prices - also very close to the ferry to cinque Terre.
The owners were lovely and helpful - we returned back to the hotel late one night(after many wines) and they showed no signs of being put out.
The buffet breakfast was simple but delicious with high quality stuff - fresh strawberries - fresh croissants - yogurt.. And delicious coffee. The sitting area form breakfast is nice with a sweet outdoor area - their wine prices are reasonable and it would be a great place to spend the afternoon.
The wifi was really good and the room design was simple but cool.
By the end of our time there (3 days) we could easily get to the hotel in 10 minutes from the station.

I highly recommend this hotel, it is a great price and a great location.

Room Tip: Make time for the buffet breakfast in your plans - it is good quality

The hotel is one of the best examples of eco hotels. It's perfect combination of reasonable price and worthy quality of three star hotel.
Location of the hotel is excellent. It's in the center of the town and not far from the central train station (about 15 minutes on foot). Moreover, it's just in few minutes from the place where boat trip Cinque Terre begins.
Rooms are very comfortable, clean and have all necessary things including tea-pot. Wi-fi is fast.
A special remark is for hotel design. It's amazingly creative. We, personally, enjoyed all the things there !!
Breakfast is really good as well.
Owners are truly friendly and makes you feel like you are at home.
We stayed three night there and we can't think over any negative point at all.
