Easy to get to from the train station. Good place to stay when exploring cinque terre. Within walking distance to ferry. Great staff, clean rooms, spacious, and good breakfast. Close to shops and outdoor market.

This hotel is not easy to find from the train station and requires a bit of walking as we did. The hotel is tucked behind the "town center" and the outside reminds me of the gray/white stripes you'd find on a prison uniform.
The rooms are VERY small so if you need some space ask for the suite which provides a small 5x5 foot seating area (2 chairs and a desk) and a wall that separates the bed area.
We had a regular room but after two nights asked to be switched to the larger room and paid extra for the breathing space.
The rooms are for the most part sparse but clean.
The inclusive breakfast you get with the room is well done with cereal, fruits, hot cereal, breads, and waffle maker. Juice, milk and coffee are also provided. they do have a Barista there that can make just about anything you'd like which was a treat!
The service staff here are very nice and very helpful! Very accommodating in helping you with any questions or travel information you may need. The elevator here is SLOW beyond words and just when you think it wont arrive and are about to tackle the stairs the doors will open. most occasions we just took to the stairs.

Room Tip: Ask for the suite size if you need some room to move around-especially if you have more than 2 per r...

I spent 2 nights here as a base for exploring Cinque Terre. The hotel room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was good with a reasonable selection. Location was great, easy walk to the train station.

I've stayed in this hotel in august 2013. It is a little bit difficult to find this hotel in La Spezia for the first time, but it is in great location close to the centre of the town with good access to railway station and port.
Great room cleaned every day, the shower is a little bit small but ok! (A little incident at the beginning of our staying in this hotel because the bathroom was not properly cleaned)
Continental breakfast with lots of choices, very kind and helpful staff.
In La Spezia i kindly recommend the restaurants:Antica Osteria Dell Uva and Trattoria La Nuova Spezia.
We have chosen La Spezia like a starting point to visit Cinque Terre and it was fabulous. I also recommend a trip by boat to Cinque Terre starting from La Spezia port.

Room Tip: I recommend only 6&7 floor for a nicer view.

This hotel was a little difficult to find from the train station but it is in a great central location. The room was updated and had plenty of room. It was also the only hotel we stayed in that had an American (enclosed) shower. The breakfast was also one of the best, with lots of options and always very well stocked. We also discoverd and excellent restaurant called Carpe Diem. The prices were unbeatable and the food was fantastic !!! We ate there every night but one and regreted that we tried somewhere new. Also, the owner is amazing and will treat you like family. To get there, go out the back door to the main drag and take a left. Go to the second street on the left and it's about 150ft on your right. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

We stayed in la spezia as a start to travelling the cinque terra, as a whole I didn't think a great deal of the city. The hotel was a good location, and the staff especially helpfull. It was convenient to train station and port, but there really wasn't a huge amount of restaurants around. But we had no problem finding somewhere to eat.

The hotel for sure is not 4 stars, but it was okay.
They exchanged my room with my parents, giving them the bigger room and I was with a child, so big mistake of the staff. The breakfast was okay, but I don't really care about it.
The location was really good, just go down to the street and you are in the middle of La Spezia. It's walking distance to the port, so u can go to Cinque Terre and near by some restaurants, not much. The stores in La Spezia closes on Sunday on the other hand a small city near by called Lucca everything stays open. So if u will be in La Spezia during sunday, go visit somewhere else.
