“If you need a bed...”
Reviewed 19 June 2014 via mobile

We stayed at My One Hotel for 4 nights during a 4 week trip to Europe for our honeymoon. The hotel was incredibly basic - this really is just a base camp - a bed to sleep on (although it's a really hard uncomfortable bed). I would highly recommend staying in the Cinque Terre or Levato if budget allows. The room was small, but reasonably clean. The bathroom tiny and the shower indescribably small. As other reviewers have mentioned the surrounds of the hotel are not great and walking from the train station to the hotel at 11pm was a real eye opener and not recommended if you're on your own (even though the walk is ~10 mins). Having said this there are some nice coffee shops, some good shopping and a couple of great restaurants close by and you do spend most of the day in or travelling between the towns. The staff were helpful when pushed. Once again, as per previous reviews the breakfast was disgusting - it was included in our price yet we did not eat it once.

This hotel is by far the worst overall hotel experience we have had in Italy.

Rooms - Dirty, cramped, hot,noisy.

Service - Incompetent staff, room keys that don't work.

Elevator - Barely functions, hope you like walking the stairs with bags.

Location - Ok but the main rear entrance backs into a dark seedy alley, so night walks back are sketchy.

Stars - No way this is 4 star... More like 1.

Would not recommend at all!

This hotel is by far the most unsettling experience I have ever had travelling. Our first hotel room was for the disabled which meant we didn't have a proper toilet seat etc we asked to be moved and they said it was full. Which was a lie because there were rooms available online. Then the next day they moved us and the aircon was broken our room was 32 degrees. They did not respond to moving us until 12am. The hotel breakfast was a disgrace, the food inedible and the noise!!! You could hear EVERYTHING you could even hear the reception desk phone ringing from the room!! The rooms are so small the showers tiny, I'm a size 6 and I barely fit in the shower. The one and only lift does not work and the room keys had to be changed 3 times as they did not work. This is a 1 or 2 star hotel at best. Backpackers sure, but you will pay high price $$$!

We used this hotel for a base camp for hiking the cinque terre. It is 10 minutes from the train station which is nice, but it can be very difficult to find the hotel the first time especially if you are driving to it. The room is clean and smells really strongly like cleaning products. It is a very modern feel (not my taste at all) and I did not enjoy staying here at all. I also did not like feeling like I was in a sterile laboratory as I slept. Overall I would never recommend this hotel.

Awsum place, rooms was great (703) was perfect for a first timer to Italy because in the early morning hours you I could open my large window and watch La Spezia locals walk around on their morning commute. breakfast was diverse enough for the business traveler but would soon bore the vacatuoner, but local cafes and bistros would alleviate that in no time. Staff knew the area and were not biased, info was quick and precise. local (2 minute walk if you even got lost) was full of all kinds of shops, restaurants, bars, speciality stores and they were all reasonably priced. I would recommend a 6 floor suite with a balcony for the smoker. one last this, is main reception is on floor 5 of 7 due to the steep grade of the local village. Enjoy the stay, and the people of Italy like I did!

Stayed here for 4 nights in May 14. We used this hotel as a base-camp for visiting the Cinque Terre. The hotel is located 10 minutes walk from the railwaystation, and it also takes about 10 minutes to walk to the ferries that serves the Cinque Terre. There are parking in front of the hotel, but it can be quite difficult to obtain parking space. It's better to book place in the garage, at additional €15. The surrounding areas aren't particular interesting, but it's just a short stroll to shops and restaurants.

We found the staff friendly and helpful. The room was clean, but the soundproofing wasn't good. Both talking and television from the neighboring room could easy be heard. Luckily our room was at the end of the hallway, so there wasn't too much noise coming from other guest passing.

Breakfast was quite ok, much better than other hotels I've visited in Italy and other countries. A good selection of rolls, slices of bread, scrambled eggs and a mix with various ham and cheese.

Our room was large and clean, but very noisy. Beds were very hard. Luckily we were only there to sleep, and out touring Cinque Terra during the day. Our room looked out on apartment buildings, so no view. Neighborhood felt run down, so I wouldn't have felt comfortable walking around after dark. Although the staff were very nice and helpful, I can't recommend this hotel.
