“Modern and boutique style hotel”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

This hotel is only about 6 years old so you have a working modern place to stay. We stayed here for two nights while visiting Cinque Terre. First off the rooms were well equipt and modern with average European facilities. Modern key card access with a room safe and small fridge. The hotel is well staffed and clean with a neat little bar just to the right of the front desk.

The style and decorating is a bit more modern that what you'd expect in Old world Italy but i suppose that was the designers point. This hotel is difficult to find without GPS. It took us over an hour once we arrrived in La Spezia. The hotel is basically built on the mountain with its first floor at street level of the town and its entrance on the 5th floor along a winding mountainside (oneway) road. If you don't choose the correct road going uphill you may find yourself coming back down the other side only to try again. The ground floor allows access to the streets for dining and shopping. No cars so you come out onto the City center walking area of the city. This is nice and a nice place to walk and explore.

We were a short 10 minute walk to the train station that wisks you off to Cinque Terre. 9 minutes via train to the first town, Riomagiorra i think. then just 5 minutes or so between stops. Quick and painless. Again as with all of Italy, watch for pick pockets. They will look for any open/unattended purses or bags.

Breakfast was OK. Not spectacular but sufficient. A lot to choose from so don't let this be a deal killer. Fruit, baked goods, eggs, sausage etc. As well as cereals, meats and cheeses. The hotel is clean but does have that standard hotel smell. Also not a real problem but i've always thought it wasn't necessary. Clean doesn't have to smell like cleaners. Air conditioning worked perfectly fine just in case your worried. We would likely stay here again if revisiting Cinque Terre.

My hsb and I stayed 2 nights here...it was rather difficult to locate the hotel, being in a residential neighborhood. We were lucky to have found a parking spot in front. Good location to explore and walk around the area; wharf and easy walk to the train station to go to Cinque Terre. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a suite: very clean and spacious. The shower is small, but we found it to common in Italy. The breakfast buffet was very good with variety and quality. The staff at the front desk were so pleasant, professional and helpful with providing information & directions. I do recommend having a GPS in locating My One Hotel but you will have a pleasant stay.

If you drive, you will need a small car to access the hotel as the streets are very narrow. Parking is available but should be reserved in advance. A navigation system such as Navigon Italy is strongly recommended to drive around La Spezia and Italy in general. The hotel rooms were somewhat basic but very clean. The service was excellent and one of the best we had during our visit to Italy. Breakfast at the hotel was very good. The central station to Cinque Terre is 10 minutes’ walk which makes it easy to get to/from Cinque Terre.

Room Tip: - Using a navigation system to drive in Como and the Lake Como area is strongly recommended. - Stud...

We stayed for two nights at this hotel. There are no carpets in the room, so you can easily here noise from upstairs. Also there are no noise reduction on the walls, we heard every speech of the person next room.
At the first night the lights go off and and alarm started at 5 am in the morning. All the guests in the hotel wake up and we couldn't sleep until morning.
The breakfast is very bad with very limited variety of food. Due to only one person is working, lots of table are full of dirty plates of the previous guest.

The most important thing in an hotel is bed. This hotel uses spring bed but you can easily feel the springs of the bed when you lay down. We looked another room, the same type of bed is used. We woke up with a pain on our back.

The good things are; nearly on the city center, the receptionists were helpful, free Wi-Fi, free car park.

I do not suggest anyone to stay in here. It is also very expensive. I can't understand how do they give stars to this hotel.

Due to the nature of my Job I stayed 9 Days in this hotel at La Spezia-Italy.The people either in reception or workers are very polite, helpful, advisor to places to eat and drink, Very nice city with stylish narrow roads, fashion and coffee, bars and restaurants plus Ice cream and wonderful yogurt If you stay there you have a free Internet with room cost the value.you can also visit near places like cinque terre either by ferry or train and Portovener where you can eat fresh fish and shrimps, It is ideal place now in this period . don't miss the chance, Enjoy.

Adequate hotel to visit La Spezia and Cinque Terre. There is an excelente restaurant near (Trattoria La Nuova Spezia dei Frateli - 400 m) and others (Via del Prione region). To go to Cinque Terre by boat, take it at "Consorzio Marittimo 5 Terre Golfo dei Poeti" - 650 m; to return take the train in "Monterosso al Mare" and landing in the "Centrale La Spezia" train station (900 m). The reception is on the 4th floor and there is a free parking in front of the hotel (few places !).

If you going to visit the cinque terre, the hotel location is fabulous as it is within walking distance to the railway and ferry with an easy entrance to get the pedestrian area of the city. It is important to understand the map if driving as the one way street changes direction halfway along!
Breakfast was excellent, room was fantastic with a huge balcony and wifi was free. The team were also very professional and helpful.

Room Tip: Our room was on floor 6, it was massive with a lovely terrace overlooking the rooftops of La Spezia.
