Has a perfect position on the harbour side, but is overpriced and pretentious. Not surprisingly almost empty on a busy Saturday in May

We dined here and experienced very ordinary food at five star prices. Seven euros per head for a cover charge, plus a mandatory 15% service charge. We saw no real justification for either. When we queried what the 15% was for, the waiter actually lied and told us that this was a local tax, and then, as with a previous reviewer, whispered that the tip was not included. Isn't it great that they're so helpful!!!!! AVOID THIS PLACE.

Octopus salad was the best I ever had.
Pasta with clams was too oily but still to the taste.
This is a pricey restaurant, thanks to the celebrity pictures on the walls :)

Portofino is a ghost town early December. Hardly any restaurants are open so there was not much choice. This restaurant is on the left of the cove on the water so it is in a nice spot. We should have realized it would be pricey when we walked in and there were photos of Rod Stewart, Sting, jLo etc on the walls. Apparently Rod Stewart eats there every year. (only one who could afford it). We ordered spaghetti with clams, pesto pasta. Veal with artichokes and pasta with crayfish and artichoke with 4 beers and a bottle of still water 180€. The food was good but very oily. I probably wouldn't eat here again as was expensive but as I said in winter there was not much choice.

Do not eat here! After arriving in Portofino we had one meal. Here at this overpriced tourist trap where the wait staff are snotty and whisper that the over priced bill does not include tip.we had two pasta dishes and our bill was over 72e. They charged 12 e for stale bread that we did not order and 14 e for flat water. And the grand finally- food poisoning! After about two hours following seafood spaghetti my husband became violently Iill. He vomited for three days and was taken by ambulance to the hospital in Lavanga where he had to be treated for almost two days with IV fluids and antibiotics. This was the only meal we had in Portofino so it could only have been here. The entire experience ruined our vacation, which cost us a ton of money, and nearly killed my husband. DO NOT EAT HERE! Regardless of how many pictures they hang of movie stars and famous rich people, the food is bad!
