“Chiesa di San Giorgio”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 May 2014

The Church of San Giorgio is a lovely yellow Church that dates back to the 12th century. The Church was completely destroyed during WWII and was rebuilt in the original style in 1950.

The views of Portofino from the Church are spectular - it's a great place for photos. The mosaic courtyard is amazing.

“must take route in Portofino”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 April 2014

The church itself is fine. But what is most important is the platform outside of the church. Anyone should make the hike up to visit the church because one can get a best view of Portofino by the gate of the church. I almost missed it since there was nothing mentioned anywhere in any guidebook, regarding this scenic panorama.

“Lovely view”

The church itself was okay, it's the view back over the harbour that make the view worthwhile, even in the rain it is beautiful.

“Typical ancient fishermen church”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2013

Don't miss this venue. Tells you about the past of this village, considered today a VIP place, where everything is expensive. Once this was a poor fishermen small village. The little harbour was the place where every night brave men were challenging an unpredictable sea to get some income to support their families.Today you can just try to imagine it and this Church atmosphere will help you.

A simple walk from the village to this church from where you can take some great photos back overlooking Portofino.
