We have just returned from this hotel in Rapallo, a town where we usually go 1-2 times a year for a long weekend. This time, we went mid March to take advantage of the first nice days on the sea side.
The hotel has been publishing for many months offers via Groupon in the section "Luxury" and I have to say, although the hotel surely earns its 4 stars it is definitely not luxury - neither for the structure and the rooms nor for the service.
After arrival, we have learnt that hotel parking was full. We were lucky to find parking in the streets, but you need to be ready to pay a lot as this goes by hour. Every time you go away and come back you pay again by hour so the daily fee can get really high, and in low and high season forget to find a parking again.
The hotel is in a very busy corner of town, so advantage is you are in one minute at the beach walk and in the pedestrian area (very nice), disadvantage: if you open the window you feel like close to a highway. However, the windows are new and when closed you can keep the noise outside.
Breakfast is for Italian traditions quite okay but nothing special. Fresh very nice fruit salad and very good brioches, only boiled cold eggs, so no hot dishes. Caffè and Capuccino excellent. 1 choice of cheese, 1 choice of ham, 1 choice of salami...and every day the same. So as you can see: not luxury, but 4* is okay.
The hotel is everywhere very clean and I was particularily taken by the very friendly room staff.
Windows of the rooms are all very small, so forget to have a sea side feeling from your room even if you could see a piece of the sea being very close to the window. At least our room was quite small but nice, the bathroom okay but somehow old.
We had also dinner in the hotel. The service was definitely overstressed, not enough personnel - but friendly and helpful. Quality of food was okay, nothing special or of extraordinary taste, but we enjoyed it.
We also brought our mid-sized dog. All were friendly with us and the dog, so no problem. But it is definitely the most expensive hotel I have ever been to with a dog, and we really travel a lot: 12€ per night (obvioulsy without baby-sitter and food).
Summarizing: the hotel is really trying to realize their upgrade to something a bit more exclusive and to work on Liguria's reputation of quite grumpy hotel personnel. It's not yet there but it's a friendly place. I would recommend it for young and mid-aged people who like to have all in front of the door: beach walk, shops, restaurants, bars.

Clean, modern, good value for money, good central location. Comfy beds, good room service, I had no complaints at all.
Massive measures of gin if you buy a Gin and Tonic! Breakfast is a helpyourself continental affair, lovely fresh bread.. amazing how easily you can put on five pounds in a weekend !
Recommend this for a short break in Rapallo.

In a wonderful position, close to every place you need to go ( shopping street, train station, seaside), it is a pleasent hotel, nice staff and good restaurant. At least a real breakfast ! I only suggest to extend the SPA opening time to the late e evening.

Stayed two nights on our last visit to Italy this winter.
Everything about the Hotel is what we were looking for as we are great fans of South Beach Miami and that kind of look.
We were impressed by the decor as well as the Spa and the outdoor decor and furniture (a bit cold to be fully enjoyed, maybe we will be back in the summer).
Staff friendly, but not overbearing, rooms comfortable and modern with all the amenities of a luxury Hotel.
Restaurant is well run with good variety of food choices, need more wines on the wine list.
Overall a great experience we will be back.

This is a nice hotel in a great location (if you do not mind motorcycles constantly passing the hotel) close to the waterfront in Rapallo. We stayed there in the beginning of October and found the hotel staff to be very indifferent. They just did not seem to care to make an effort to make your stay pleasant. It was almost as if I was working for them. Getting a second cup of espresso in the morning was met with a grunt a nod and an expression that let you know it was the last espresso you were getting. Similar experience at the bar, after I sat a table for a few minutes, I finally went up to the bar and the bartender said - oh do you want a drink. Next time I'll stay elsewhere.

We stayed at Hotel Europa for 4 nights. From the arrival on everything was perfect. Helpfull and friendle staff at the frontdesk, great service at the bar (with excellent rum coolers with a nice extra touch thought of by the barman!). Everybody was always nice an smiling. Breakfast was very good, lots of choices (I liked the small croissants with salami), and nice sweet rolls. Great cappucino, they even bring it up to your room if you orer at the bar. We didn't try the restaurant for lunch and dinner, neither did we try the spa facilities. Location is perfect, close to the waterfront, the shopping and the restaurants. Train and busstation close by so we left our car in the carpark outside of the hotel.
If we go back to this region for sure we will choose this hotel again. They cleaned our room also before we went to bed, clean towels and a nice opened bed. Perfect!
Felt really spoiled here the last days of our holiday, thanks also to the nice people who work here.

We showed up last minute without reservation and were offered a very nice price for a comfortable room, lateral sea view, generous breakfast and enjoyable Spa included. We had a great stay there. Staff was available and friendly. Location could not be more central. Definitely recommend to stay here if you want to enjoy a relaxed stay in the area :)

Room Tip: Rooms with lateral view are on the street but windows are good enough to stop the noise.
