The property was as beautiful as it looked on the photographs, the owner was extremely helpful, enthusiastic about local events and knowledgeable. It was easy to communicate with her as she speaks good English, Italian, some Spanish and some French. The breakfast was indeed excellent, as advertised, and always served on time with fresh and healthy products, some home made.
The location is very handy for local restaurants and attractions. There are pleasant walks from the house and for the most adventurous long treks along the Portofino promontory. We walked from San Rocco to San Fruttuoso along the coastal path and can highly recommend this walk, 2.5 hours (must wear proper hiking boots, not suitable for children or if you are afraid of heights) You can also reach the San Fruttuoso abbey by boat from various villages along the coast only some 7 km away from Ca' dei Pini. The San Fruttuoso abbey is now a FAI (Italian equivalent of the National Trust) property and is well worth a visit.
