This superb restaurant is obviously a favourite with local people, and it's easy to see why. The menu is not massive, but very Italian, and food is well cooked. It's overseen by the owner, who speaks very good English. Not cheap, but you have to pay for quality, and that's what you get here. It is not in a conspicuous position - it's in a street parallel to the promenade, but it's well signed towards the Portofino end of the town. Highly recommended, and well worth searching out.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at this cozy 10 table trattoria. From the warm welcome by Irene to her friendly advise on the menu we were taken away. She and her little niece were celebrating their birthday while we were there and it made for a genuinely warm and friendly atmosphere. The children were very well behaved and anxious for the meal and the cake.
Food was absolutely outstanding. Risotto di Mare was so delicious. Best I've ever had.
Pane Cotta for desert was pure heaven. 3 Course al la carte meal with kir proseccos, a fine local bottle of wine and lemoncello was 101 EUROS which is great value for the quality we received.
The singing of Happy Birthday before we left was the topping on the cake of a wonderful evening.

This was our second visit to Santa Margherita. We visited Da Pino twice on both trips and it is consistently excellent. The menu is broadly along the same lines as most of the local restaurants- fresh fish and pasta- but the cooking is definitely above average. We have tried pretty well everything on the menu. The homemade seafood ravioli with red mullet sauce and the seafood risotto were among the highlights.
A family run restaurant, with great food and excellent service. We will certanily be back next year.

Great all around. Wife had the scaloppini. Heard the chef beating this meat for five minutes. If was very thin and really tender (hard to do with veal). I had the pesce of the day. Local white fish. Simple (grilled with lemon butter). Very tasty (few bones but what do you expect). Pasta bolognese was tremendous. Trofie pesto was great(very heavy so be prepared). Had the pasta filled with greens and walnut sauce. I think it's a local thing since I don't recall a walnut sauce anywhere else I've been. Very tasty if you like walnuts. Pasta was very light. Prices were a bit steep but portions more than make up for it. 111€ for six people which wasn't too bad given we had a few drinks too. Off the Main Street by the harbor which was nice (less noise). Very friendly staff. We were the only foreigners it seemed. Mostly locals who all seemed to know each other. Usually a good sign for local cuisine. Highly recommend a visit.

If you are a fish lover, go and try and if you are not a fish lover, try it and you will be one...
A very unpretentious kind of mom's and pap's restaurant where you don't find lots of tourists but locals
