We stayed here for 2 nights and the room was very comfortable - the bathroom was massive !
Excellent breakfast except for the standard coffee - but the waiting staff came around and asked if we wanted different coffee (cappucino etc), and this was delivered promptly - well worth asking for.
The old town is about a 10 minute walk away - up the funicular railway, and was a nice way to start our holiday - quiet and relaxing.

Dear Fin2307,
thank you for sharing your positive experience with us.
Your comments highlight two important aspects of our Hotel: professional and qualified staff and central location, walking distance from the main points of interests.
We hope you will choose our Hotel again for your next trip to Bergamo.

My husband, teenage daughter and myself spent four nights in two superior/elegance rooms. We like lots of room and the two bathrooms were convenient. The rooms were on the 4th floor at the back of hotel each with a terrace overlooking the courtyard. It was very quiet, the beds were comfy and each room was immaculate. Breakfast was great and the wifi worked well for all three of us with our ipads. All staff members were polite and friendly. We enjoyed going up to old town each night for dinner and walked to the train station with our luggage when we departed for Milan.
The only thing we all commented on that we would change was the size of the shower cubicle. We are average size people and the shower stall was so small it was hard to move around, my daughter and myself are 5ft 6" and the spray hit us both directly in the face. The shower head was immovable so we had to move around it to shave legs etc. which was a challenge. Not something that would stop us from staying here again but was funny when we arrived in Venice and the first thing we looked at in the hotel room was how big the shower was.

Dear KGD'sMOM,
we are so happy to know that you enjoyed your experience in Bergamo and at Best Western Cappello d'Oro Hotel. Thank you to share your opinion about the shower size, if you think they are too small we suggest for the next time to request in your booking a room with the bathtub. We think you will be comfortable there. We hope to see you soon.

Stayed there 1 night and the front desk person(female) was excellent and very helpful. About a 15-20 minute walk to the funiculare to take you up to the old city. My only problem with the hotel was I had a rental car and in order to drop off your bags you have to drive up on the sidewalk. I understand this is doable in Italy for sure, but not normal. also parking is 20 euros, but I was told(kudos to the front desk!) that I could park on the street for free during certain times (like 8pm-8am). Overall a good place to stay and I would stay there again or look for a place in the old city area.

Dear EUROPEEXP,
we are glad to know taht you enjoyed your stay with us and expecially our Staff professionalism.
As you said our parking is located on the hotel side and, before leave the car, is necessary to park in the drop on/off area to take the luggage. In the city centre is quite difficult to arrange the perfect solution for the parking but we assure this is the only inconvenient (very small one) for a hotel that lies in the heart of the city: everything is walking distance, also the Funicolare Station to visit Città Alta, the high part of the city. One more reason to stay with us during your next trip to Bergamo!
We hope to see you soon.

We were in Italy for a family wedding in July and we all stayed at this hotel. Everything about it was wonderful. The airport bus stops right outside it. The funicular to the old town is a ten minute walk away. There are plenty of restaurants and good shopping all around the hotel.
The rooms are not large but very clean and comfortable with every facility. The staff were brilliant, very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was the best I've ever had in Italy and the staff in the dining room were very thoughtful, remembering our preferences from day one. There are I Pads for guests' use in the lobby. I will definitely return to Bergamo and to this hotel.

This is regular 4* hotel, in the nice town area, with very professional service.

The hotel is situated 200m from Train Station and 10mn by car from the Aeroport. There is also a local Bus which can take you to the Aeroport and it is passing near hotel. There are great restaurants and shops around the hotel.

Our professional Staff completes the perfetct package.

Stayed here for 1 night and was generally very impressed. Staff friendly and helpful with excellent English.
Room and communal areas well decorated and presented and loved the thick dressing gowns after a few weekend of living from a suitcase. The free wifi worked well from our room as did the sound proofing to the main road outside. We stayed on the night of a local festival and despite worrying as we had an early flight the next day we didn't hear any street noise.
Sadly the same sound proofing doesn't seem evident between rooms as the family next door were bothered by my boyfriend tapping his razor against the sink (this was done very lightly) and began banging the walls at us. When in the bathroom we were able to hear them chatting and their tv. Perhaps it was just an unfortunately payed out couple of rooms.

Hotel is in the most convenient location for discovering Bergamo. From the airport , the hotel is at the next bus stop after the station. A few hundred metres to the funicular and pathway, rising to the Citta Alta and is next to the main shopping area.

The hotel itself is a little disappointing, initial impression is outdated, dark and dismal in the lobby. The room itself is comfortable , on the small side but is very clean , which can also be said for the other areas .

My only real gripe of my brief stay was regarding the free wifi. In the room, it kept dropping out every minute or so, having to sign in again. Very frustrating would be better not having at all.

Dear daihi,
thank you for sharing your experience here with us.
Cappello d'Oro lies in an historical palace with more than 150 years of tradition. Its style ,colours and furniture are defintely classic and elegant. Its soul its young and friendly thanks to our Team.
I read about the inconvenient you experienced with the wi-fi connection and I reported your comment to the management in order to check the signal and avoid any issue.
Thank you again for your review, we hope to see you soon.
