“Not close to airport”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 September 2006

stayed here for 1 night as we arrived late to the airport. the hotel was very clean and was fine for one night but it was a bit further from the airport than we had expected... There was 4 of us and it cost us 30 euro to and from the airport which made the cheap room rate not such good value. Would recommend the hotel if you have transport..

This hotel sits in a mixed industrial/residential zone between the airport and town. If you have transport, it is convenient, but it isn't really near to any attraction. There are some good restaurants that the hotel rightly recommends, but none within reasonable walking distance. There is, however, an excellent gelateria nearby. Our main problem during our stay was a lack of hot water. This isn't as much of a problem as it sounds if you stay in a hot month like July, but at other times it would have been disasterous. The hotel were aware of the problem (they admitted it upon checkout) but did not think to mention it when we arrived. However, this aside, the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful (quite delightful), and the rooms were a good size. Breakfast (cold buffet) is plentiful. We would return (it is a good location for a one-night stopover if arriving at Bergamo airport and moving on) but would not consider it for a visit to the town of Bergamo itself.

At first the hotel looked like a 70's throw back tower block of flats. But once inside, with all the scented candles and flower vases around, our impression of the hotel soon changed. My parntner and I stayed here having decided to explore Milan. The hotel is situated quite a way out of Bergamo (San Paulo - about 20 min bus ride) if you haven't a car. But ample parking if you have. (Train from Bergamo to Milan is about 45 mins). The only problem with this, is that there isn't much to do in and around the hotel after about 8.30 - 9.00, but the last bus is at 8.30, and that is of course if you can risk hanging around the bus station at that time of night. It seems to be the local haunt for drunks! Idealy, for a romantic weekend break, the hotel is a little far out, as you can't have a stroll around the beautiful Bergamo (especially old town). In my opinion the hotel is perfect for a business traveller, or those who have cars, otherwise I would stay actually in Bergamo itself.

This was a very pleasant hotel with a good location to many restaurants, old town and new town. They charge 12E per night to park the car. Buffet breakfast was pretty good. Our room must have been in an old part of the hotel as the access was very confusing. It was one floor above the lobby. If we didn't use the elevator to the room, it was up the stairs, down the hall, down the stairs, up the stairs and around the corner to our room. They offered free internet service. An apple basket was in the lobby when we arrived. The bathroom was very modern. I would stay here again because of the good location.

I paid 56 Euro for a single room at this hotel in Sept. 2005 for one night and could not have wished for better value. There is adequate parking and it is a short strole into town where there is a very good restaurant. (The hotel does not serve evening meals). The bed was a king sized one and was comfortable. The bathroom was excellent. The room was small but adequate and equipped with TV and minibar etc. Breakfast was also the usual cold buffet and whilst it was limited, was more than adequate at this price. This hotel is only three years old and about a 15 minute drive from the airport. The staff were very helpful and attentive and spoke English well. I would definately stay here again.

Very helpful staff (phoned out and ordered pizzas for us as local pizzerias were closed on their weekly day off!). Arranged for travel cot in bedroom, no problem. Good breakfast, quiet bar. Ample parking. Air con can be individually controlled from bedroom. En-suite very shiny with lots of marble!
