Food was very good but not sure it deserved a Michelin star. The view cannot be overstated -- fully open to the lake and absolutely gorgeous. It feels as if you've turned back in time to a late 18th century or early 19th century luxury restaurant, with live music playing in the background (although selections were a bit cliched). Staff is sweet and eager to please if not trained up to city standards. Even with the hefty prices, we'd definitely return for a special celebration or just to take it the magnificence of Lake Como at its finest.

Fine dining at its finest ... Menu selection, ambiance, service, presentation, and quality are top notch ... Not enough for you ??? Then you can speak with the Executive Chef and design your own dinner around a theme, such as a preferred wine, which we did one evening ... Or some new dishes not yet on the menu as part of the seven course tasting menu, which we did on another night with our new Bellagio friends ... The Sommelier made perfect recommendations ... We lost count of the number of staff that served our table ... If you want the best that Bellagio has to offer, then Mistral is your place ...

We stayed at the hotel and were recommended this restaurant. Whilst the view and live music were amazing, the rest of the meal was very average with a ridiculous price tag. Good wine selection and fantastic cheeses. Waiting staff very average and slow. Overall a huge disappointment.

Spent 295 euros for a mediocre dinner for two. We expected much more given the price and location inside Villa Serbelloni (where we stayed). Our primary waiter disappeared for most of the meal - took our order and delivered the bill...that's about it. That left most of our meal to be delivered/managed by a junior waiter who appeared new and somewhat fearful of us. Had to ask for things that should have been delivered naturally - olive oil (this is Italy!) and a steak knife for cutting meat, etc. Food was average - not up to the same level as other fine restaurants that we have visited.

Many small things added to the disappointment. Phone was ringing quite loudly by our table and disrupted the mood. Live music was great, but no one thought to turn off the canned music, so the two competed with each other.

We will not return to Mistral - emphasis on the "Mis" part of their name. Try La Punta instead. Much less expensive, great food and very friendly/attentive wait staff.

I ate here on the last night of my trip to Bellagio; it was supposed to be the icing on the cake to what had been a lovely few days in Como (with fantastic food, wine and hospitality). I was incredibly disappointed by this restaurant. The food was a let down (unadventurous and lacking in flavour), the atmosphere was pretentious and I felt robbed when I settled the extortionate bill (which I would not have begrudged paying had the standards I'd expected been met). The hotel is beautifully located however, with spectacular views over the lake.
