We were refugees from the limited delights of Menaggio and after looking round the quainter parts of Bellagio we wanted somewhere peaceful and shaded to sit and have a light lunch and naturally a glass of a crisp white wine.
We found it; the Florence is a couple of hundred yards north from the ferry pier, and just what we wanted. There are tables under a sort of arbour across the road but we preferred the shade and peace of the tables against the main building, under the portico. Attentive waiters, decent food, reasonable prices, calm surroundings, free wi-fi, and yes, a crisp white wine.
