We ate here a couple of times during our stay in Bellagio. Lovely food. Good service. Nice atmosphere. Reasonable prices.

Sunny Saturday, beautiful location... We enter La Grotta by chance after a walk through the charming typical alleyways of Bellagio, as this was the only restaurant open at that period of the year, and we were not disappointed at all! Very friendly hosts, the restaurant was full, and the meal delicious. The pizza was tasty, thin like we love it, and the spaghetti con Vongole really good. The atmosphere remain simple but warm, in other words: it's worth it!

Up the steps Via Cavour is this tiny but warm and friendly great place to eat. HAd a waiter named Yuri--"Russian name but 100% Italian". Offered my first Limoncello ----gratis. Had linguine with lake fish. It turned out to be trout. Excellent. Just the right amount of pale pink sauce. Excellent tiramisu. Most clientele seemed to be local.

we visit Bellagio on a very regular basis and truly believe that the Gods must have founded this beautiful place. We have eaten at La Grotta on a number of occasions and would recommend it as a great retreat. Well worth the climb up the steps. The waiter has a great sense of humour - probably derived from his time working in Ireland for a period of time!! Food very good - and a large choice BUT whatever you choose (unlike other places with a wide choice) the food is always good. prices good too.
Thank you to the staff at La Grotta. Always feel 'at home' here.

People who want an inexpensive meal and lots of it should check out this restaurant. Otherwise, don’t bother.

We were attracted by the signs pointing upwards from the lake and the proximity to our hotel. Located off an alley, La Grotta doesn’t have any outdoor light. What it does have is plastic menus in four languages. I’m glad I wore my t-shirt. Needless to say, there are no daily specials.

The most special thing about the place is out waiter who is very pro-tourist. Speaks good English because he lived in Ireland for 25 years. He took our picture.

The menu has 36 different pizzas. You could be here for over a month and have a different one every day.

Or, like us, you could have veal scallopini with three slices of carrots and tomato for a vegetable. Penne bresaola (air dried beef) had porcini mushrooms and creamed tomatoes. Sounds much better than it tasted…but, there was lots of it. And it came out very quickly after we ordered it. Like a very quick heat-it-up.

We had a bottle of Chianti Classico which we had to point out to them was, in fact, classico. They had no clue.

I don’t recommend this place unless you want to stuff yourself on cheap food. It wasn’t very crowded. Perhaps others have figured this out.
