“Lovely Little Restaurant!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2014

We nearly missed this little gem as it sits quietly on the left side of the street going up from the Hotel Metropole. Everything is homemade and delicious and freshly prepared. They go out of their way to make sure that your meal is just as you want. Try the chocolate and pear cake, it is yummy and you gat a decent sized portion too!

“Fresh and Delicious”

So good the first night we went back again on the second. Very reasonably priced, friendly staff, and delicious simple Italian food.

“Excellent reasonably priced food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2014 via mobile

We visited for dinner one evening when we couldn't get a table at one of the 'higher rated' restaurants in the street . We had a lovely table and whilst there were not many other diners so it somewhat lacked atmosphere we had very attentive service from the waitress. My husband particularly enjoyed the local cheese starter and I loved the hot chocolate soufflé . The prices were very reasonable too.

“On par with the rest of our Bellagio restaurant experience”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2014 via mobile

It seems there are a very small selection of excellent restaurants in Bellagio (which are typically booked far in advance) and the rest, which are very average at best. When our first and second choice didn't work out (both fully reserved even though half the tables were empty at 7pm and still empty when we walked by after supper at 8pm) we saw that La Lanterna was rated #15 in Bellagio on Tripadvisor and had lots of room so we thought we'd try it. We seemed to be the first people in for supper. We ordered 1/2 liter of wine and had the sausage and cheese starter. This was the best part of our meal. Cheese was good although I wish it was more than just the one type. The sausage was the star of this plate. Very tasty.
Then our pastas came. My wife swears hers was microwaved. I can't be sure but her ravioli was swimming in about an inch of butter and the sage looked like it had been drowned. My spaghetti bolognese was good but just average. A touch on the bland side. Our sub par pastas made us skip out on dessert. We couldn't get the attention of the inattentive waitress so we just walked to the front desk and waited to pay. Bellagio is absolutely beautiful and breathtaking but we can't wait to get to Rome to start eating amazing Italian meals. If San Giocomo or Bilacus can't get you in, you are in trouble in Bellagio. Tripadvisor let us down this time.

Tasty panini, including local speciality bresaola (air dried beef). good service, fresh bread. plenty of other choices, but we only needed a snack. Would recommend.
