We (family of four - 2 teenagers) stayed here late June for 5 nights. I'm so glad we picked this hotel. Location was perfect, right on the lake front - a 20 second walk to the ferry. The rooms were fabulous - spacious and beautifully decorated. We had been a bit nervous about the parking situation but it was painless. The parking outside the hotel is free from 8pm to 8am. We sorted out our luggage then moved our car around the corner to the free parking, where we left it for the rest of our stay. Bellagio feels very safe, and is a relaxing place to stay. Barchetta (up one of the stepped Salitas) is a good choice for dinner.

Only downside for us was the lack of a proper shower in our room - we had one of those hand held things. However, our kids in the room next door had a shower, so I guess if this is important to you, then you need to specify when you book.

Room Tip: Ask for a lake view, a balcony and a shower! We were on the 4th floor and had a fabulous view of t...

We stayed for 5 nights and loved Bellagio and the Hotel Florence was an excellent place to stay. The ferry terminal was out the front so the position was perfect. Fortunately our room had a gorgeous view of the lake but not all rooms have this feature. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom adequate although the hairdryer was useless - quicker to sit in the sun! The breakfast room was very pleasant and the breakfast very generous with espresso coffee even.
We ate once at the hotel restaurant which is across the road on the lake front under wisteria. I was not impressed when I saw the plated food(uncovered) being carried from the kitchen, down the steps (a public thoroughfare) and across the road .
The food from the bar attached to the hotel was a better option.
The internet was very patchy and annoying.
The family members were very helpful but some of the staff seemed a bit grumpy.
We would stay again

Room Tip: Pay for a lake view room

The Hotel Florence is one of a kind. Owned by an Italian family for one century, it makes you feel like you are staying at home of a friend. A rich friend for sure but with excellent taste, friendly staff and the best location. It is only a 3 star hotel but you are pampered without having the luxury of a 4 star hotel. You do not get a minibar but the Cuomo Lake view compensates the fact that you have to bring you own water bottle to the room. The hotel restaurant in the border of the lake serves gourmet food al fresco and the dining room inside serves a very nice breakfast. The bar is very nice and the young owner even offered us a lemoncello and lots of good advice for visits around the lake.Bellagio is a small village and you should avoid weekends when all the people from Milan invade it.Nut during the weeks you can stay in this hotel and explore by boat or ferry boat the villages around lake Como.

Room Tip: Ask for lake view. All rooms are different .

Spent 3 nights here in the dazzlingly beautiful Belaggio. The hotel is not the 5* place next door, so don't expect 5* service and rooms. However the Florence is very charming and all the staff we met were very helpful and efficient, but in a nice laid back way.
Our room was on the side overlooking the 5* and was a little noisy from the road below although at night it was fine. No air-con but the nights were fresh enough to mean we didn't need it.
Breakfast was fine and filling.
Location was perfect right on the lake edge and in front of the ferry jetty and ticket office.

A friend recommended this hotel and we weren't disappointed. Bellagio is a wonderful town right that sits in the middle of the "Y" of Lake Como. Beware the roads getting there - it's barely wide enought for two cars and if a truck comes along, which it did, you have to stop and back up until the road is wide enough to pass. The Hotel Florence is right on the lake, in the city center and is wonderfully appointed. This is key - ask for one of the rooms on the 2nd floor facing the lake with the large terrace. They're only $20 more and you get a larger room, A/C, free wifi and an enormouse shared terrace with wonderful views of the lake. We had to move the 3rd night to a smaller room that had only a step out terrace and no A/C, and a partial view of the lake. For the extra $20 the larger room was well worth it. The bar is really nice with little private nooks that overlook the lake. The breakfast is very nice and the hotel has a number of tables that sit right on the lake and they'll with a canopy of trees overhead where they'll serve you just as if you're in the restaurant. The day staff was not overly helpful, you had to be fairly assertive to get help. The night desk clerk however was wonderful, with tips about places to see, and was very helpful with directions. He even gave us a guide book on the area from the bookstore for free. Bellagio is wonderful, you can stay there for days as we did or take little day trips on the ferry. Take in the castle in the hills above Veranna.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights a week ago. Our room and bathroom was very large, comfortable and charming. Our room went out onto a huge shared terrace which looked out over the lake. Fantastic! The location was superb. We were right by the ferries, shops and restaurants. We ate at the hotel restaurant by the lake - lovely and several great restaurants which were recommended by the hotel.
We would highly recommend this hotel. (It was recommended to us by a friend)

We stayed here for 3 nights in June 2011. We had a nice view from our room on the lake. The room was nice enough - nothing special but the view and location in Bellagio were great. The staff was extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. I'm disappointed by the high ratings this hotel has received on tripadvisor. The hotel is quite expensive and you expect that the staff will be helpful and kind. It was our last stop during a 2 week trip through Italy and the service/staff was by far the worst we experienced in Italy. It always seemed that we were annoying the staff if we asked a question about a restaurant, ferry, or what to do. I'm sorry, but that is part of their job!
