It's a good job the Belvedere's such an excellent hotel because we were in Bellagio for two days and three nights and it rained steadily on the first day and intermittently on the second. We stayed indoors on the first day and ate in the hotel all three evenings because my elderly father has difficulty walking up and down the kind of hills and cobbled streets you find in Bellagio, and we were perfectly happy. No idea why this place has only three stars -- service and facilities unquestionably justify four. We were greeted on arrival with a refreshing glass of fruit juice which, after the rather hair-raising drive from Como, was very welcome (a tip: if coming by car, go up the west side of the lake from Como and take the car ferry from Cadenabbia; better still, don't come by car). We stayed in newly-refurbished rooms on the terrace below the dining room and above the swimming pool: the rooms were spacious and done to a high standard. It certainly isn't a cheap place, but I suspect nothing in Bellagio is, and if you're happy to pay the asking price it's well worth it. The place has been family-run since 1880, and clearly very well-run; the clientele included Italians, Brits, Germans, Australians, Americans, French, Scandinavians: a more diverse bunch than we found elsewhere in the Italian lakes. Car parking may be an issue in this beautiful but rather cramped little town: we booked a garage for our car and got a lock-up which it shared with the hotel's spare sun loungers and umbrellas and which was reached by a precipitous drive down beside the swimming pool. The views eastwards from the hotel over the Lecco arm of the lake are spectacular, but then this particular corner of Lake Como is breathtakingly attractive all round.

So happy to have been booked in to this beautiful hotel whist travelling with friends in sept2013, So pleased to have free parking for our "van" , free juice on arrival, and shown to our rooms by the assistant manager. Room overlooking beautiful Lake Como, you can never tire of this view. Breakfast and Dinner included in "half board" , and would have to say that the evening meal was one of the best I have ever been served. Very close to Town, but heated pool, spa, jaccuzi etc draw you back to the hotel after a wander round the town. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone !!

Wonderful experience., Staff friendly, helpful and always right on top of their jobs.,Food quite outstanding, and our room was great with huge balcony and large bathroom. Talking to fellow travelers in other hotels we certainly made the right choice. Deserves a much higher star rating.

I don't usually do reviews but do read them so thought i would help you all with our experience.
From front desk to room to amenities, this hotel is superb, very accommodating, friendly staff help to make the hotel that much better, this was a 5* hotel we don't know why it is only listed as a 3*.

It's barely a 5min walk from Bellagio center, but it is all up a gentle hill so be aware for the slightly older travellers :-). Being outside of the center adds to the tranquility of this location overlooking Pescalo bay and the Eastern shoreline away from the evening jovialities of Bellagio Town.

We could not find fault with any item and WILL be staying here next year when we return for our 1st Wedding Anniversary.

Room Tip: Corner rooms are generally larger, we were in room 302 which was a fantastic room.

This is an excellent hotel in a wonderful location. It is about 5 minutes walk from the centre of Bellagio and is set in a very peaceful area with marvellous views over the lake from the extensive hotel grounds. The hotel is extremely well run. All the staff were very helpful, professional and friendly, and the whole place was kept spotlessly clean. We had half board, there is a wide choice for breakfast with a good variety of fresh fruit everyday as well as some hot food and a selection of continental items. The evening meal had plenty of options and was always something to look forward to. The views from the outside terrace and dining room were breath taking, The pool is large enough to enjoy a good swim, it was well maintained with plenty of towels and more than adequate sun loungers. The infinity Jacuzzi with its marvellous view over the lake was a delight. We found some good walks from the hotel into the quiet surrounding villages which was an added bonus. We stayed for 7 glorious days and enjoyed every minute.
We would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Bellagio, In our opinion it is far more superior than its three stars would suggest.
We will have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to any of our friends.

Room Tip: Ask for a front lake view with terrace or balcony, well worth the extra money
