Good room, good location, good breakfast with a view. We booked a partial view room since no lakefront rooms were available. We were happy with it. The fog horns did not bother us that much, maybe because we were still recovering from jet lag and slept like logs. One morning, however, my husband said there was quite a lot of noise coming from garbage trucks early in the morning. I didn’t notice much diesel smell except on the last day when we opened the windows. Usually we used A/C so the windows were usually closed. Breakfast was great. Loved the self-service coffee machine although it was slow so there was usually a backup.
I recommend eating at Bilacus which is on the pedestrian staircase. If coming from Malpensa, I recommend driving up the left side of the lake and taking the ferry from Cadenabbia. The road is straighter and less narrow (except for a stretch in Colonna).
